stalling when hot

Since the outside temperature has cleared 80 degrees here in the mile high city again, i'm faced with a problem. After i've driven for a while (say to school ca. 7 miles). If i leave the car for a period of time and then go to start it again, it struggles to run when first started and idles at about 600rpm. Is there a sensor out in my K-jet or am i just getting crappy gas?

Re: stalling when hot

Check the fuel accumulator. If it goes bad, the fuel pressure drops and the fuel boils in the lines...

Later!

Yes, the accumulator is next to the fuel pump(s). If the O2 sensor has failed, the engine just continues to run rich, since the fuel system defaults back to mechanical mode.

I'm pretty sure it a no fuel problem vs. a running rich problem, because the O2 sensor is relatively new. Could it be anything else in line w/ the fuel system (pressure regulator etc?)

Re: stalling when hot

Have you checked the accumulator like I suggested?
Does the engine start fine when it's cold, just not when it's hot, or does it have a hard time starting all the time?

Later!

Re: stalling when hot

What would i do to check the accumulator? It starts fine when cold, but will have trouble on sunny/hot days
