Check the rock near the bottom of the picture. It looks like a huge piece of quartz.

As they say in baseball, "Good eye!" I did not see the hose through three feet of water.

Darn! If it wasn't so dang huge in size, I could've put it on Ebay and sold it for $50,000. Maybe I could just sell the claim for that, and throw the Madonna in for free. Any takers?

Submerged equipment reminds me of two things. First is the series of photos Kringle posted many years ago when I first joined this forum. I think Bill should resurect [good word on this day] those pics of his sunken air boat and the subsequent salvage operation. Quite impressive!
Second is the memory of finding my 3" homemade dredge upside down and teetering precariously on some boulders in the middle of a raging rapid. It had been cut loose by vandals, greenies, most likely. The rescue was one of the most unnerving experiences of my life. I found out what adrenalin can do to amplify one's strength to almost inhuman levels. The aluminum pontoons suffered a few dents but when I dried the engine out, cleaned off the slime, and got everything back in alignment, it functioned as good as new. I was lucky.

That moss covered rock just below the hose wrapped rock appears to be quartz.

Bob wins: there is a suction hose wrapped around the bedrock, about 3' underwater. Gonna go in when the snow is gone and try to retrieve it.
Yer right Bob: I tried to quit mining. It's too much in my blood...getting rid of the gold fever is a tough one...

Marshall, I see the hose if that is what you are talking about. Thought you getting out of mining a bit ago, now I guess you are at it again. Hope you do well, Bob
