You could refine out the thorium, cerium and lanthanum if you had enough but that might not be practical. BTW "this rock emits alpha, beta, and gamma radiation and may pose a slight health risk if improperly stored or handled." It might be a good idea to store the ore in a protected place. |

| Fleng | Re: monazite If I were you I'd continue to stockpile it. It is probably only a question of time before someone creates an application for it. Rare earths aren't always rare but they are definitely unique! |
