Jim_AlaskaRe: Bidders Remorse? High Bid Going to Coty for $800
Whenever I get a new piece of equipment one of the first things I do is a thorough cleanup. I mean taking things apart and really cleaning it.

I have even done this in the bush in Alaska when I find old mining stuff like wooden sluiceboxes. You would be amazed at how much gold gets left in those old wooden sluic boxes.

I never even thohgt about this until talking to Ron Wendt, he told me he always did this. Ron, for those who may not know, was a miner from an old mining family and long time Alaskan history and mining writer.

If you have a chance to get any of his books, they are well worth it, he has many years of mining experience that he has willingly written down. Ron passed away about three years ago.

Here is the 1/3 oz. picture. Is that about $400 bucks worth?

Leonard, it could be that this gold came from the tailings as I just bunched everything together when I pulled it out of the Jig. Funny thing is it seemed to clean up really easy?? I saved all the tailings in case I was super sloppy and it isn't that easy to seperate. Pictures forthcoming when I can find my camera.

I went over to Allan's house yesterday upon an invite.
It appears that he is trying to break even on the cost of that jig. Apparently the last cleanup was left in the machine.
This is is the 1st pan of about 10 gallons of conc. Allan is getting ready to process.

It would be neat if the auctioneer actually paid Allan to haul this gold jig away:smile: That would require Allan to pan just a little over a 1/2 an ohzee..
OR by the time Bernake is done printing this weeks billion dollar bailout, Alan might be able to break even at 3 pennyweights:confused:

Leonard I believe Allan said this was Livengood dust as well.

At Tobies, the super fine stuff went through the system.

This hose is the outflow of the finishing jigs. The hole dug there is the panning sample I took.

This is the gold I got out of that sample. It was tough panning as the non-gold was almost flour sized black sand. All of the gold was about flour consistency also.
