Those 55's Look at what I got with my 55's, they are the 3 1/2" X 4 1/2" single spring coni's. The marten on the left is the most recent one, the center marten was caught the day before in the same hole and trap. The one on the right was caught in a 120.

Re: Those 55's AWESOME! Congrats on the catches! Those are nice martens. I finally got 6 sets out again on Thursday for marten, there sure is a lot of snow out on the trails now and to top it off its warm. Are you using any lure or just baited sets? I went out and used pike fish and some beaver and this season I am using just a little bit of gusto at the sets, something different from last year and the year before(smaller than a pea sized dab). Looking forward in seeing some more posts from you and congrats on the catches again. Nick

Re: Those 55's Nick, Thank you. I am trying doing some experimenting this season, some sets I use gusto, some have sour seal oil, others have beaver castor, one set has bait. I got marten in all sets that had some kind of a smell lure at the set. I haven't gotten anything in the baited only set. My brother gave me a bunch of pike heads to use for bait...it is exciting!
