Jack London's "All Gold Canyon"

Here's a good story that won't take you long to read. It's a Jack London short story written for "Century Magazine"vol.71 Nov.1905

Best way to get right to it is to go to www.jacklondons.net and read down the list of short stories on the home page titled "World of Jack London".

This is a story that gives an account of a prospector riding down into a canyon that appears to have good prospects for gold. The method he uses to go about searching for the source is all right there weaved into a captivating tale.

I've seen where some Forum readers have asked about how to go about prospecting. After reading this tale,"All Gold Canyon",see if you can sit still.

It was only half rock he held in his hand. The other half was virgin gold. "Be ca'm, Bill; be ca'm," he admonished himself...

Wow Peluk...now that is one hell of a good read! Thanks for posting that link!

Amen to that!
I've got a place already picked out where I'm going to prospect in the same way. Can't wait!

Yes,to Vance and all,it is among London's less well known works it seems.
I'll tell you what,I was introduced to it via the library section where they have books on tape. This collection was titled "The World of Jack London."Listening to that story and others narrated put you right back there among them

AKduke, I'll bet you've got some good tales of your own looking for that "pocket". Hope we can hear some of them. Where are you in AK?
