After a couple of delays I finally did the lesson on density with the Chem teacher at the school where I teach math.
When I originally said that I would do the lesson I thought that it was for only one class. Turns out that the teacher had three chem classes and I did not have enough dredge/high banker concentrate to do all three. I asked here (and New 49er) for any help and I got much needed response from Dan From NY, J.Lemanski from Idaho and Dave McCracken from New 49ers. They each sent concentrate from dredge or high banker that I used. There was fine gold in each of the packages that they sent so I very much appreciate the help. It worked out very well and the kids had a great time. I did add about a pennyweight of nice flakes to make sure that the students had a very positive experience with the whole thing. Here is a pic of one of the panning stations. ![]() Again, thanks a lot. |
