Hi,
I have been contacted by a person interested in making another show with people overcoming the odds in Alaska to make a buck. She is interested in the Nome dredging scene and want to contact somebody there who knows what is currently going on in the area. Might be somebody's chance to be a television star! I know a few guys but they are all out at the mine at the moment. Anyone interested? |

If she contacts me I can put her onto a dredger but they are generally dredging whenever they can.
I planned to and am mining.I figured August and September and hopefully until med October I want to be washing material. The first part of the Summer was spent in maintenance and finetuning and working with visitors. I set up on the beach Tuesday with two Big Bankers.I found my 2" pump provides more than enough water for both when running beach sand. For more blasting power or to use the standard riffles,I'd have to go to a larger pump to run both. Send me your address Geo.i owe you for a toothed shovel you got me. |

There were lots of TV people in Nome this summer, from the USA and a group from the Netherlands. Which would probably explain all of the drama associated with some of the newer dredgers this year. To the point of dangerous situations. After our second day of dredging I came out of the water and there were two dredgers within 100 yards of me in the rec area. This was a first for me, never before had anyone gotten that close. On the 5th day I came up to find another new dredger 100 feet from my bouy marker. I could wave and talk to the guys on their deck. On our 6th day out Mike my new deck tender shut the power off to the pumps when 2 runaway dredges that had "lost their anchors" almost crashed into my dredge while I was under.Actually too much drama for my liking. I'd chat with them, "All the gold has been mined and there isnt any left, so nobody should bother coming up to Nome and ever dredge again." Soo do you think they'll buy that one? ha ha Later Dan
