Appears to have been sold. When I pulled it up on Ebay got this message "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available"

I was keeping an eye on it also and it was getting close to the end of the auction and only had a bid for $7.50. Maybe Rusty got a little scared that he would have given it away for real cheap. I know I would not want to give a dredge away for a loss like that!

I bid on it,ha ha $2.25 I believe thats Harold "Zeke" Schinzel old partners dredge. I dont think it went out much, the guy slept on it.The claims he claims,I dont believe actually exist. He responded to my bid with this:

Hi Dan:
I was amazed and the lack of information that was provided in his effort to sell a dredge that he said is worth $70k. If I was looking to buy a dredge for that kind of money, I'd sure want to know a lot more details than were offered. I don't know the seller, but I don't thinkl he'll be asking you to join him for Christmas dinner! Dickb |

I didn't have anything to do with it. Just saw it on ebay and thought the way it was advertised would give you all something to talk about.

Yes, something to talk about, That dredge came to Nome all decked out with decals and advertisements from Bass Pro Shops and several small firms from Arizona I believe. The same guy tried to sell claims which werent his, just another guy to watch out for. Good call rusty happy cam,it is something to talk about and watch out for. Good Gold to All, Dan

Hi Rusty:
Like I said, I have no idea who the seller was. Just don't think he had any experience with ebay rules and if the dredge had sold for $7.50, he would be under legal contract to sell it for that amount. Big time loss! Most times they put a minimum reserve or a minimum bid to protect themselves from that happening. Didn't look like a bad dredge and somebody could of put it to good use though. Just glad nobody got stung buying it. Dickb |

Hey Dan,
Doing good. Back in Seattle rounding up the stuff for the next project. When this 10" is done I'm gonna relax a bit in Maui. The show is gonna be a hoot. My claim to fame is I sold Verne the 8" hose he is using on the Ranger and I sold Zeke the 6" hose he is using on the Clark. They both came from my Ice diving adventure. -Kevin |

Hi Kev:
You going to ice dive this winter? I'll be following the dredge build again this year. Maui sounds like fun. Stay safe and warm. Dickb |

Hey Dick,
No ice diving for me this winter. In fact I'm in the process of turing the ice-shack into a mini apt. If I ever do it again I will build it entirely different. The french did come out and film us last winter over a period of 5 or 6 days and I still plan on giving out dvds, but as things would have it I got busy and I left my copy in storage in nome. Gonna put it online as well eventually. It was great having it done documentary style. The build this year will be a little easier. The boat is already in existence and I just have to modify it into a dredge. As I learn more each year about mining hopefully I can continue to make a better dredge. -Kevin |

Hey Kev:
I be watching the build. Did last years project have a good season and did she work the way you hoped? I still think pointing the bow into the waves and working off the back is the way to go. Just my thoughts, but I haven't worked in the ocean. Stay safe and warm. Dickb |
