Submarine for Hire

Small 2 person submarine for hire, for all your potential underwater needs (freshwater or saltwater). Located in Wasilla, AK currently. I have used in recent years for many underwater projects, such as cleaning up leaking hazardous waste barrels in Lake Superior. I would like to put it to use in the waters of Alaska for harbor cleanup, dredging for gold, or any other projects. The following are some of the specs of my submarine, but will be more than willing to answer any questions that you may have. Thanks for looking.

Depth: Can dive to 300 feet without pressurizing the hull, 500 feet with pressurizing the hull to two atmospheres
Time of Dive: Two hours without snorkeling, unless an outside line is attached to a mothership.
Thrust: Two 40LB thrust motors currently, with one being added to the bow for hovering in currents, top speed of 5 knots.
Lift Capacity: 700 pounds
Battery run time: 40 hours on two batteries
Hydraulic Arm on the bow
Dimensions: Length 15 feet
Beam 3 feet, with guard 45 inches
Weight 4500 pounds dry
Hatch 30 inches
Windows- Coning tower hatch, 17 inch on bow, 6 inch on port and starboard sides

Re: Submarine for Hire

Hmmm...interesting. I was talking with a prospector just last year who was interested in finding an old ship that went down in shallow Alaskan waters, supposedly with gold from the Alaskan gold fields aboard...circa 1900. I will tell him of your sub...

Re: Submarine for Hire

If you were to take this to Nome you could do prospecting of leased grounds by the day/hour and do a good service as well as make a good income.. no drill no dig, no submarine prospecting no dredging. it seems with the two seater the lease holder could sign a waiver and get in with you and do their own gps mapping real time. This would be very valuable as the miner wouldn't be removed from the dredge, and the lease owner would have all knowledge prior to sending the captain and crew into his/her grounds. You could retro fit a set of divided sections in a pan with lids for each sample, and a shoveling system of sorts to the existing arm to take the samples. I see very good potential for wanted service..Even if the owner is the miner, he/she is going to think twice about cutting to the chase and getting the gold..video and photo would be clutch as well this documenting of the experience could be invaluable for sa court, advertising, conditions plotting over the years..endless..really a good all around service given the nature of the industry...God bless and good mining..

Thanks also DarkStar Mining, I am currently in the process of getting quotes to barge my Sub to Nome. I just have to find a place to store it where it is safe.

What about a small trailer to hold and launch the sub, that is sized so it will fit in a 20' sea container. Then all you need to do is find a place to store it in Nome. It can be loaded on a barge to ship to Nome or any place in the world where it's needed.
