Prospector Sees "BigFoot"

Interesting video clip. The guy seems sincere. I think he saw something, but was it really a "bigfoot"?

Re: Prospector Sees "BigFoot"

I've heard of guys dressing up in a gorilla suit to fake a bigfoot. Sounds like a darn good way to get shot...

Re: Prospector Sees "BigFoot"

250-300 thousand years ago it really did exist: Gigantopithecus was the real thing & remains have been found in Asia. No reason to think it would not have migrated to N. America at some point when sea levels were lower.

For this animal to still be alive & reproducing, w/o being shot, hit by a truck, found dead... that is what I have trouble believing

Troubling question tho?

His sighting happened in 1980 per the video. Heck, that was 29 years ago ! Why is he just now claiming to have had this encounter?
I had my own incident in the woods while prospecting locally 2 years ago. I heard a big crash in the woods west of me a few hundred feet, figgered it was just a tree branch falling, and thanked God I wasn't under it. I went back to my digging. A minute later tho ,and another BIG crash, then a 3rd huge crash from the same area. I went back to digging trying to figger out what had happened? Then I started feeling these thuds hitting the ground like somebody was throwing rocks at me and the ground would shake a little. I tried to ignore it figgering it was nuts from a tree Except the thuds started up AFTER them 3 big crashes I heard, not before? I didn't feel scared, no goosebumps, but I was getting really nervous since I was a mile from the truck in really rough ground with the sun setting, plus the thuds seemed to be homing in on my location, not falling in a random pattern. I finally got a bit scared and grabbed my MXT and shovel and ran back the mile to my truck. I was too scared to go there again for 2 months.
When I did go back, I went to the area I thought the crashes had come from. It was in a glen of sorts ,down a steep hill from where i had been about 300 feet and I found some large black walnuts on the ground.I threw them in the air and they made the THUD, which I felt more than heard. No signs of humans or Bigfoot tracks there and no large, freshly fallen branches either.
I am of the conclusion if it was a Bigfoot or some such critter throwing nuts at me, it must have jumped out of a tall tree and was defending its territory like the monster in the Predator movies, kinda sorta.. It sure would have hurt bad if I had got hit in the head by them nuts. I think whatever it was , was just trying to scare me away.Heck, I had a pistol case in my backpack. No human would have dared start a fight with me seeing that pistol case?
I still need to go back there with my new TDi detector.Red and black hotrocks were a major issue for the MXT. I will also take a digital camera with 12x optical zoom lens this time and a 10-30X monocular in case I have another encounter. I wonder if he would like a banana? Maybe a laser pointer would be a good soft weapon? I really don't like carrying a loaded gun.
What would you guys suggest? Anybody wanna go with me? My incident happened in Oct ,2 years ago.

Re: Troubling question tho?

Norma Cobb, in her book "Arctic Homestead" about her and her family's life in the Minook Valley [NW of Fairbanks], writes at length about their encounters with "Bushman". I know and worked with Les Cobb and his daughter, Cara, and Cara dismisses the stories, but they sure do sound convincing to me. At very least, the encounters certainly are interesting.

Will have to order the book for a good read this winter

Guess I am not feeling so weird about what happened to me in the woods now after reading Amazons review and excerpts from this book. I dunno how them pioneers ever survived without the things we take for granted today?
