Re: Venezuelan wooden gold pan

I would love to have one of these pans, but at $189:gonetoofar:, I can live without it!

This guy probably paid a couple of dollars for it in South America.

Last time I was in Venezuela I traded my used wet suit booties for a similiar batea. I actually have conversed with the gentleman selling that pan, he is a nice person to chat with. His photos are spot on of what conditions are like down there.

Re: Venezuelan wooden gold pan

I have been wanting a wooden batea for year. That looks like a nice one, but it is not worth $189 to me either.

Re: Venezuelan wooden gold pan

Interesting! Imagine that once its saturated it would be fairly heavy to heft about compared to a plastic pan.

Wouldn't be too difficult to knock one out on a wood lathe though.
