I have a friend here in Utah who swears by his drywasher. Most of Utah is desert and many of the club claims we have access to have little or no water.
I'm a "hobby" prospector. I have looked into drywashers myself and have watched several in action and have some questions. There seem to be two main types: the continuous blow and the pulsating type - with a bellows, generally. What's your experience? One better than another? (All things else being equal - which is a big leap of faith, I know) How would a good small drywasher compare with a small recirculating "highbanker". My gut feeling is that the drywasher would struggle with small gold (-50 mesh?) that a water based outfit might catch. Any experience with parallel operations on the same input of material? (I'm assuming input material prescreened to 4 mesh or less....) |

Get Jim Straights book on "Successful Drywashing". You'll have all your questions answered and some you didn't even know you had.
