Need some input on Ol' Crow Creek...

Want to take the kids back up on a fam trip, but still would like some metal. I went over your "guide" Mr. H and I was wondering if it still held true all these years later. Are the key spots and areas still the places to hit. We dug around in the "learner" area last time and didnt even get up to the "bridge" and yet still left with gold. We bought from your place today a classif/ hand sluice/ shovels, set up. Wife said "no!" to the highbanker or dredge.. guess I need to find something first  Anyhow, thanks for any input!

Hi,

Yup, not much changes as the years go by. If you see a big excavation with rocks stacked near it, and nobody is working it, jump right in. Good luck!

Re: Need some input on Ol' Crow Creek...

We spent all day yesterday past the dozer working the bank and digging holes and found a few flakes and color. We spent all today right next the "excavation" ( which was claimed both days) digging in and around the most awful hard silt/clay and got squat. We moved a bit down to a little side stream area and wammo, found a small nugget. We got rejazzed and ran about 5 more classified buckets and only got a few flakes. Guess the nugg was just lucky. By then the fellow working the "excavation hole" moved out and we tried and did ok. More flakes in 2 hours then 2 days wandering. Thanks!

Oh, tou are talking about Crow Creek. I thought there must be an Old Crow Creek. Then I thought it might have something to do with whiskey as in Old Crow whiskey.

Nevermind, I will go back to sleep.
