Panning in Revelstoke B.C. area

Hi all
I am on holidays in Revelstoke area and have been trying out the panning on the Goldstream River near here with my son-in-law. We have found some fine gold, but nothing to jump up and down over, but having fun. Posting couple pics from second trip out where we found some gold not quite picker size, but nice to look at lol

Re: Panning in Revelstoke B.C. area

Hi Greg
We got out three days for some panning and siteseeing. My son -in-law got lots of practice on keeping really fine gold in his pan (lol), and I had a great time panning some great looking creeks. We did find a few pieces that were more little slivers then flakes , so that was nice.

I didn't take any pics of the gold we found, but did get some interesting video of helicopters picking up water near us and dropping on fire on the mountain above where we were panning. Seemed to be a fire on every second slope as we drove to the creek.

While we were panning, we were swarmed by about 10 or 15 large black and white wasps. It kind of unnerved us until we realized the wasps were picking up blackflies and bulldogs that were landing on us. After about an hour or so, they actually had the area fairly clear around us. This is not a tall tale either lol.

I'm already looking for some unclaimed areas to check out next year, when I'm hoping to spend about a month panning and siteseeing in B.C.
