Back in Outer Mongolia

Hi Folks!

I have "been gone for some time", but now really am back from the Hindu Kush. Quite a few adventures too.

Since getting back I have been busy with fluorspar, as there is a fluorspar-rush on in the middle of the Gobi Desert. Seems every man and his camel wants a piece of the action. In prospecting for fluorspar, we also discovered the delights of sandstorms, dustorms and having lunch under a vulture's nest.

I've also been busy with placer drilling (never stop learning) and will post properly soon.

My emails all went phhuutt, so please resend anything you might have sent in the last 6 months.

cheers!

Steppe

Here's a link to a trip I made a few years ago to an old fluorspar mine.

There's some purplish rock strata on roadway cuts East of Missoula Montana on Interstate 90. As you proceed further East, there are some placer deposits that were cut thru during the road construction. Very interesting geology for about 100 to 200 miles there.

Well, we've waited a long time for the Hindu Kush to spit out our beloved and missed Steppe Gold. Your students and fans are waiting ...

Great to hear from you Steppe!

The only interesting mineral in rotten old western KY, besides (yawn) coal is spar. There were some fairly extensive deposits mined here, and across the river in Southern Illinos. We also have the Ben E. Clement Mineral Museum, with Smithsonian-grade specimens, in the sleepy hamlet of Marion, KY.

I'm anxious to hear your exploits...
