Re: puddler/ concentrator concept,

Got more on the sand vac coming, also have chosen weapons for the wheel barrow concentrator,

Looks to be a cement mixing hoe, I am hoping to settle the heavies in the bottom of the wheel barrow with this,,

I was checking out the wheel barrows,

and see what I found,
,

Very interesting, back asap, gotta run,

Re: puddler/ concentrator concept,

Better get the single wheel if you're moving on the beach Dredger.Even with that one wheel, you'll need a packed down path or planks.
Two wheels in the front with the stand in the rear is probably called for if you are hoeing a heavy mix otherwise it will topple over.
The two wheeled barrow will also have more rolling resistance in the sand however.
The black concrete buggy will go nowhere in the sand.

By the way,you remember we were kicking around the cement mixer design to concentrate heavies.I got the mixer but I never put it to use yet.A problem arises with that idea.As the black sand concentrates, and trash spills out over the lip, that would put an extremely heavy strain on the motor with no indication of the changing load.
You'd just have to stop periodically and shovel out.

Too right peluk, but I had not been thinking sand , I was thinking river gravels in a tight or thin fast section of river, sort of mostly rocky gravel then sandy, in the spot I was going to test this little puppy, when the river drops low enough, I have been getting regular reports on river water levels,16 months and the river has maintained a high flow, good for dredging, not so good for digging in my spot, anyway, that is my usual luck, thanks for the reality check, I can now see the lowest / fastest 3 x ATV, ( FAT /FAT TYRES ) wheel barrow ever seen on a Auss beach, haha, in the middle of the night,

So please tell me what you think, can a wheel barrow be manhandled to work like or similar to a bulk size gold pan, ?? to concentrate bulk ?? samples, to a good concentrate, and take those home, 2 part question, first part , with a or some riffle in the barrow bin, second part, without any riffle, ???>
And please be aware, that the barrow will not have the wash off or back wash that a pan has, I was think of a lot of shaking down scrapping the light Sg / light colour materials with the hoe, or shovel, then as you tip out the processed cons you would get a good visual of the gold in the sample,???.

OHOH, I noted they have plastic barrow bins with puring lips /recess, ???. food for thought ,

Ok, yes , cement mixer, but what are we talking here, cement mixer to con the drill samples or are you thinking feeding with the Hoe, ??.

Also will you or have you removed the mixer bars inside, ??.

You say, and trash spills out over the lip, that would put an extremely heavy strain on the motor ,
Yes I agree, my line of thought the cement mixer design only allows you to fill the bin with so many shovels cement /sand ect. Filling it all the way to the top with high Sg materials must increase the load, what about designing a adjustable locking pin set up so you can set the angle and volume of materials as you wish, ??. food for thought.

I like the rolling barrel concept, reminds of a monster fat gold wheel in NZ, no spiral or hole in the center for the heavies, they all stayed in the rolling 3-4 foot high barrel type gold wheel, turned out to be about 22 Oz of gold and a bucket of BS, not bad concentration, ?.
Gotta more to do,
