anyone used the new keen rubber lined sluice?

pat let me and a couple friends use this rubber on plastic sluice and it is incredable. dont realy care for the plastic boddy but myself and a couple others are having him install the rubber tray in a regular mettal box with the fancy beach box black mat in the header, cant wait to get back to try it. i could tell a big differance as soon as i started using it. many of you probably know ron,he work,s for keen and is in nome almost every year putting out fires for pat. he told me that this box has been in reseach and development forever and is the best recovery method out. sure worked for me.:welcome: :welcome: PROSPECTERJIM

Jim, are you talking about the aluminum Keene Nome beach box(Model 17624) that is 22" or 24" wide with the new rubber Miracle Matting, OR the folding A52P plastic sluice with the rubber riffles that is 10" wide, OR both ?? Thank you!

no it,s the folding plastic box. i steped on it once and nearly ruined it. cant wait to see how that turcoise collered tray will work in an alluminum box. pat gave us two of them to try on one of his claims. you wouldnt beleve how well it works unless you saw it for yourself. almost everyone elce who has used it sais the same thing it,s great but that folding, plastic, chineese box has to go.

forgot to mention// my friend who own,s the claim with pat bought one of thoes beach box,es from pat and we hiked that giant monstrosity down to the middle yuba and used it for a few day,s but it just burn,s to much gas to use that far out. it works well but even with 3 of us working the dry bank we just could,nt feed it fast enough to keep it running. wee,d have to dig and class to 3/4 inch make a huge pile then fire it up run the material. just did,nt seem the right way to do it.

Thank you Jim, I understand! I wonder if that A52P(folding sluice) rubber matting is better than expanded metal over unbacked Miners Moss over deep V-mat??

Also that Keene Nome beach box black Miracle Mat looks very simular to the rubber A52P(folding sluice) matting.

Jim,what size pump, what grade was it set at,and how deep was the water over the mat? With what you worked, how was the recovery and at what point in the sluice did you find the majority of the gold even if it was a marginal return?

im talking about an in stream sluice. no motor at liest on the folding one.the beach box we hauled back there i think had a 5 hp honda. as to the other question i realy dont see how it < the fancy rubber tray> could work as well as non backed miner,s moss on v mat but i know some of the guy,s in the back at keen,s factory and they are realy dilagent in there testing of new stuff and one of them actualy told me that this new rubber tray will make the old riffel style obsolete jim

Re: anyone used the new keen rubber lined sluice?

sorry missed most of your question, most of the gold was in the header mat as usual once some made it to the box it was cought in the first of the little squares. it was realy wierd how it would even seperate the black sand from the gold you would see gold in the first square and not a single piece of black sand. the rubber takes the shock of the gold and stops it cold. in fact when you stand it up to clean it the gold still wont move till you rince it out. as far as the water level it was maybee a half in over the tray and the angle was a little steeper than usual. this bot with the plastic body can be a b---h to set up because it want,s to bend in the middle but im sure that when i get one in an aluminum box it should be much easyer
