MechaGodzilla 00:38:12 Thu Aug 5 2004 |
F-ing. Time. And Drag probably meant a huge rock pillar in the middle, or something similar. Anyway... MechaGodzilla touches down on an island similar to Monster Island. His head slowly turns back and forth as he scans the island. Aside from another monster - Space Godzilla - there is nothing of interest...yet. He knows why he is here: to battle another creature. A bipedal, turtle-like monster able to spit searing fireballs from its mouth, and fly at speeds of up to mach 3 by withdrawing into its shell, firing jets concealed in its shell, and spinning at high speeds. In desperate situations, the monster can also draw upon the planet's life essence, known as mana, and use the energy to fire a beam of awesome power from its underbelly. The name: Gamera. The machine looks around calmly, making mental notes of his surroundings. He performs a quick self-diagnostic, making sure his guns are clean, so to speak. All systems are go. Good. Going in unprepared will more often than not see you on a one-way trip to your enemy's stomach. He gives an acknowledging glance to Space Godzilla, then folds his arms and stands patiently, awaiting the arrival of his adversary... Ready when my opponent is. ...Well, scratch that, I've been ready for longer than I care to remember. |

LETS GET READY TO CRUUUUUUUUMBLE! FIGHT! *Space Godzilla hovers over the small island* |

MechaGodzilla 17:55:10 Thu Aug 5 2004 |
I'm also happy to note that this will be Fudge's and my tiebreaker match. Good luck. - MechaGodzilla, first son of G-Force(well, second if you count Garuda), stares down his adversary: the fabled guardian of the universe, and renowned Gyaos hunter, Gamera. The massive turtle glares back at the diamond-coated titan, unflinching. The two rivals simply stand there for a moment, appraising each other, unmindful of a nearby volcano which could erupt at any time. It is as an old western standoff, only fast-forwarded over a hundred years, with fire breath, eye lasers, and missile launchers replacing revolvers, rifles, and shotguns. Gamera rears his head back a bit and looses a deafening, trumpeting roar. MechaGodzilla responds with a cold, metallic screech. Then, Space Godzilla impatiently adds in his own shriek--his way of telling the combatants "SHUT UP AND KILL EACH OTHER ALREADY!" He was apparently tired of exchanging pleasantries. Not to worry; so was MechaGodzilla. Ignoring the cosmic, crystal-obsessed demon, the robot remains focused on his true target. In one swift move, he raises his arms, leveling them at Gamera, and - *K-POW* - launches the shock cables in his wrists. Normally, he would let the cables strike the enemy, and then activate the electric shock. Instead, however, he activates the charge as the cables whistle through the air. The ends of the cables pierce into Gamera's chest, and the searing electricity immediately flows through the cables into their target. The overgrown turtle howls in pain, writhing and spasming involuntarily as the high-voltage juice surges through his body. The steel behemoth does not care that his enemy is in pain. Like a true machine, he feels no pity, no remorse, no fear. At last, MechaGodzilla retracts the cables and deactivates the charge. He lowers his arms, watching as his opponent slumps to the ground on his back, twitching slightly. Not one to beat around the bush, the mecha begins to build energy. The inside of his mouth glows with the storing energy. With almost no warning, he opens his mouth and lets fly with the mega buster ray, aiming for the fallen Gamera's underbelly and face... |
|

Gamera then slams feet first into Mecha's chest, sending the machine stumbling backwards. As MechaGodzilla stumbles back, Gamera retracts his legs and activates the jets while deactivating the arm jets and extending his arms and head. Gamera rockets away a few dozen meters and flips back around. He then lowers his right shoulder a bit so that the hard plated edge of his shell is aimed right at the mecha's head. |

MechaGodzilla 22:05:55 Thu Aug 5 2004 |
Gamera was about to pay for his mistake. MechaGodzilla reaches up and grabs the shell in his hands. He then bends backward while pulling toward the ground, using his enemy's momentum against him. The end result: Gamera gets smashed headfirst into the cold, hard ground. A muffled screech of pain is heard as the ground quakes. MechaGodzilla releases his adversary, letting him fall to the ground, and turns around. He glares dispassionately down at Gamera: green blood trickles from the guardian's nose, and a dazed look is on his face. A spider web of cracks can be seen below his head, where it struck the ground. The mecha begins charging energy again. This time, it is in his cold, soulless optics. Then, two bright, concentrated yellow beams blast from his eyes, straight down toward the fallen Gamera's face... |
|
MeWantFudgeSickle 00:23:14 Fri Aug 6 2004 |
Gamera then reaches out and grabs MechaGodzilla's ankle and pulls it bakc toward himself. MechaGodzilla suddenly finds itself toppling backward and landing hard on its metal fins. Gamera then pushes himself up onto his feet so that he is standing over his opponent and throws his full weight foreward to body slam the machine. |
|
MechaGodzilla 01:24:28 Fri Aug 6 2004 |
Gamera obviously wasn't off to his best start. No matter; it just makes things easier for MechaGodzilla. He raises his arms, but does not completely prevent Gamera from flopping down on him. He decides he may as well give the triphibian at least a small sense of success--why just bruise their body when you can bruise their ego as well? The robot allows Gamera to land on him, knowing such an attack will spread the impact, and the damage, over a wide area. Mecha then grabs Gamera by the shoulders, and rolls over; now he is atop Gamera. Space Godzilla looks on, a series of...interesting...ideas running through his mind. Though if he let Gamera and Mecha know of those ideas, they would ignore each other and pound on him instead. MechaGodzilla's expressionless mouth seems to curve into a wicked smirk as he rotates his upper body around, so that his thrusters are right on top of Gamera's underbelly. He reclines on Gamera's chest, and fires his thrusters full blast. Gamera screams and flails wildly as the intense heat of the thrusters burns his chest; the wounds from the cables flare with searing agony. The turtle struggles desperately, but is pinned underneath MechaGodzilla's frame, and can do nothing but squirm and howl in pain. At last, MechaGodzilla stops torturing Gamera with his thrusters, turns his upper body back to its regular position and gets to his feet. He reaches down, grabs Gamera by the shoulders, and roughly hoists him to his feet. He slowly lifts the guardian over his head, gets down on one knee, then thrusts his arms downward, attempting to slam Gamera's wounded chest down over his right knee... |
|
MeWantFudgeSickle 02:06:46 Fri Aug 6 2004 |
With his head still out of his shell, Gamera launches a trio of fireballs into the back of MechaGodzilla's head and neck. Gamera then deactivates his jets and extends his arms and legs again. He quickly orients himself so that he will come down right next to MechaGodzilla and clasps his fists together to use the momentum of his fall to smash them onto the back of the mechanical doppleganger's head. |
|
MechaGodzilla 21:23:43 Fri Aug 6 2004 |
But, now he knows where Gamera is. He rotates his upper body to face Gamera; this is quicker than trying to turn his entire body around, and quick reactions and movements are necessary to survive in close combat. He grabs Gamera by the sides of the head, leans back a bit, and comes forward while forcefully pulling Gamera toward him, giving him a vicious headbutt to the face. The guardian grunts in pain and falls onto his back. More blood flows from his nose, many burn marks are visible from Mecha's eye lasers, and his eyes are taking on a glazed look. At this rate, if he survives the fight, he'll probably end up brain damaged(not that it matters to Mecha). MechaGodzilla stands, turning his lower body around without moving his upper body. Glaring coldly and contemptuously at his fallen enemy, he then lifts his right foot as high as it will go. He brings it down with great force, attempting to stomp Gamera's burned, bloodied underbelly... |

MeWantFudgeSickle 03:26:48 Sun Aug 8 2004 |
Carefully maneuvering his arms and legs, Gamera manages to roll over onto his belly and climb to his feet. As he stands up, Gamera spits a fireball at MechaGodzilla's face. |
|
MechaGodzilla 21:59:01 Sun Aug 8 2004 |
But that doesn't mean Mecha isn't going to use this to his advantage. He slowly climbs to his feet, unconcernedly examining his shoulder: the armor is dinged up from the rough landing, but that seems to be all the effect it had. Gamera cocks his head slightly, confused. He remembers the damage his fireballs did to Mecha's head and neck earlier--and now it left not so much as a burn mark? The machine turns to face Gamera, as a port in his stomach opens, and the energy of the absorbed fireball is routed to the cannon. If he wasn't such a soulless machine - or rather, if his mouth's range of movement wasn't simply limited to opening and closing - he would smile cruelly. *P-SHOOM*! A blazing, powerful bolt of plasmic energy shoots from the port in MechaGodzilla's stomach and plows into Gamera's stomach. The plasma grenade. Gamera howls in agony as the plasma chews away at him, severely burning his skin and blasting off tiny chunks of flesh, from which more foul green blood pours. The impact of the plasma grenade knocks Gamera onto his back. At last, the fiery torrent of plasma ceases, and Mecha's stomach port closes. Gamera is laying upon the ground, a burned, bleeding, smoking mess. He groans in pain, wondering if MechaGodzilla can also fire a Mana Beam. MechaGodzilla sees that Gamera has fallen next to a tall pillar of rock, bigger than either of them. He quickly trudges over to the fallen turtle, reaches down and grabs him by the tail. With effort, the robot lifts Gamera by the tail, takes a step back and brings his arms back, holding Gamera as a Louisville Slugger would his favorite bat, and swings for the fences, attempting to smash Gamera's belly into the pillar... |

Gamera smashes into the pillar. The large rock column sways unsteadily from the blow. With MechaGodzilla still holding onto his tail, Gamera kicks out with his legs, nailing the machine in the chin, causing it to tilt back a bit and let go of Gamera's tail. Gamera then grabs hold of the swaying pillar and pushes it the rest of the way over, sending it falling over toward MechaGodzilla. |
|
MechaGodzilla 22:02:27 Mon Aug 9 2004 |
- MechaGodzilla finishes stumbling back from the kick to the chin, and sees the pillar fall toward him. Knowing he has no time to evade the falling structure, he does the only thing he can do: raises his arms to try and block the pillar. But the column's weight and momentum are too great to be matched by Mecha's strength; while the blow is softened, the pillar still manages to land on his chest. Unable to endure the stress, the pillar cracks in two, at a little below MechaGodzilla's plasma grenade port. Gamera scowls, angry that his attack wasn't as successful as he hoped. But now he has a bigger problem: MechaGodzilla has recovered from the attack, and is wielding a sizeable chunk of rock to boot. Mecha sudenly looks down at the ground in front of Gamera and fires a burst of his mega buster. The explosion throws up a large cloud of dust and smoke. Gamera is distracted for only a few seconds, but those few seconds are all the robot needs: without missing a beat, MechaGodzilla whirls his torso in circles, still holding the chunk of pillar; his head and lower body never even twitch. He then releases the hunk of rock, which soars through the air and quickly finds its target: Gamera's noggin. The guardian of the universe lets out a roar of surprise and pain as the rock breaks again - this time over his thick skull - and he is, once again, knocked onto his back.(bet you're getting tired of this, eh, Fudge?) MechaGodzilla repositions his torso so it is facing Gamera. He then unleashes a salvo of paralysis missiles toward the fallen turtle... |

Noy wanting to leave himself open to a follow up attack when he fell, Gamera had already withdrawn his legs into his shell when he hit the ground. As the missiles were leaving their launch tubes, Gamera was kicking his jets into high gear. He scraped up away from the ground an instant before the warheads impacted on the soil he had previously occupied. Gamera flies out a short distance and loops back around. As Gamera flies at MechaGodzilla, he swerves slightly to the side as he feints a ramming attack. MechaGodzilla however, doesn't notice the tail in time to avoid it. The appendage wraps around the machine's neck and Gamera drags MechaGodzilla across a large portion of the island, armor scraping off the automaton's back the whole way. Gamera eventually releases MechaGodzilla. He then flies staight over the machine and extends his legs while retracting his arms. Gamera then activates his arm jets to speed up his fall toward MechaGodzilla as he aims his feet for the artificial monster's chest. |

- Releasing MechaGodzilla so that he was laying on his back was another mistake. The machine rolls over, allowing Gamera to stomp down on cold, hard ground. Mecha climbs to his feet. He and Gamera stare at each other, neither one making a move... |

dragitron 06:24:00 Sun Aug 15 2004 |
Gamera wins in damage points, but by a mere point. He did more heavy damage and dodged more swiftly. Mecha Godzilla wins because of detailed expressions that makes the fight enjoyable to the ref who has to read it all, I especially like his gig about what thoughts were going through Space G's head. As I said before, damage is more important than detail, but the lack of detail AND a mere one point more damage won't save Gamera. Thus, my final verdict is.... MECHA GODZILLA! FINISH HIM!!! *Space G wakes up, and glares at the combatants and sizes them up. With one flick of his tail, he slammed it against the back of Gamera's knees, forcing him to bow to Mecha Godzilla. He got up after curling around his crystal, and lifting it above, slams it on the ground between the turtle and robot. His back crystals flared with blue energy as the crystal dissipated, and a blueish energy covers Mecha Godzilla and fixes it compeltely. The sadistic kaiju nodded to the mech and floated over the volcano which NEITHER of them used, much to his dismay* |
|
MechaGodzilla 20:54:03 Sun Aug 15 2004 |
And I didn't think I was going to win for a bit there...about the only critical part of Gamera that isn't protected by his shell is his head, and going after his arms or legs wouldn't have done a lot of good since he could just withdraw them into his shell, so apart from Mecha's heat shield, I think Gamera had the overall advantage here. But either way, it was a good match. Now... - MechaGodzilla leers down at the kneeling Gamera. He is done playing games: it is time to lay this to rest. His right arm lashes out, like a cobra striking at its prey, and seizes Gamera by the throat. The overgrown turtle chokes and gags, struggling to breathe, as the mech slowly lifts him until they are at eye level. The robot's cold, dispassionate optics stare arrows into the guardian's pained eyes. He may do well against those overgrown rats with wings known as the Gyaos, but here, he was fighting out of his league. And now he will pay the ultimate penalty. Energy begins welling in the mechanical titan's optics again. Gamera closes his eyes, knowing the end has come..... ... Nothing happens for a full minute. Gamera slowly opens his eyes, wondering if the machine has decided to spare his life. Wrong. With no warning, MechaGodzilla fires his eye lasers right into Gamera's eyes. It is over in a matter of seconds. The lasers pierce easily through the eyes and into the brain, frying the inside of Gamera's head. He shudders and convulses for a few seconds, then hangs limply from Mecha's arm, dead. Activating his thrusters, MechaGodzilla hovers up to the lip of the volcano, still holding his defeated enemy's corpse, and peers inside. Even if the molten rock cannot burn through Gamera's shell, or even just his skin, it will seep inside his body through one or more of his orifices(mouth, eyeholes, etc.) and fry his insides to a crisp. The robot looks down at Gamera, then hurls him into the volcano's gaping maw. Space Godzilla roars at MechaGodzilla. The machine gives only a solemn nod in response. Space transforms to his flying form and departs from the island at mach 1, with Mecha following at a moderate distance. |
