Amazing Race

I just noticed in the the tv guide that Amazing Race is back on channel 7 next Tuesday at 10.30. :mex:

Even though I would prefer for it to be on an earlier time I hope channel 7 leaves it at the one time and not chop and change like the previous two series:hmm:

Well I just checked the TV guide online for next week as I don't trust Channel 7 ( any wonder why...:sigh: ) and it's on in Sydney at 10:30pm on the Monday instead.

Re: Amazing Race

Well I just re-checked the tv guide and it shows that it is on twice Monday and Tuesday. I also checked the online guide and it shows the same so it is on twice next week. I am not sure if it is only on twice for the first week. Hope not double dose of Amazing Race :mex:

Well I remembered!:thumb:And it looks like it's getting off to a good start. DH will miss the fist 15 minutes of it though, it took that long before I realised I was taping the wrong channel for him.

Re: Amazing Race

Yep we got two episodes. I think that it is on twice a weeks perhaps to catch up to america. I think they are up to episode 8 or something. Hopefully Channel 7 won't shuffle it around again. I can live with it being on at 10.30. No actually I prefer it as everyone is in bed (including DH who is worse than the kids sometimes :lol:smile: and I can sit there quitely and watch it.

Re: Amazing Race

Actually I feel the same way, providing we remember that it's on - we missed the first 10 minutes last night because DH was channel surfing on 2 other channels. then he finally flicked onto 7 thank goodness. I'd totally forgotten about it. But yes, it is good to ba able to watch it when the kids are asleep and with no interruptions isn't it!
And the fact that so far Ch7 are being more consistent with it.:thumb:

Who are your favourties. I don't mind the twins and the two brothers are a laugh. I can't stand Arianne. I think the brothers are right in presuming that the others are all worried about ousting other people and alliances that they probably won't concentrate on the game as they should be.

Re: Amazing Race

I don't mind the twins either. In fact I've been more supportive of them since the other teams started bagging them out and making them the seeming goal of the contest. Don't you just love the we must beat the twins at all costs! Yep, well looks like it's working so far!:flush:

I like the 2 older brothers as well. They are pretty good humoured and more down to earth. You can definitely pick the gay one though can't you - even the smallest eye motions he makes give him away.

The 2 Harvard girls annoyed me from the start - "Oh, but we've been to Harvard Law..." So what and who cares! It's not exactly a qualification for racing around the world, and as they keep hanging around the tail end of the groups, well, what can I say. Looks like their begging for money off people at the start hasn't gotten them far either.
There are a few others that either annoy me or I'm not sure of, but I'm still trying to get the right names and faces together. I didn't mind that father and son team so much (where do you find male cheerleaders???? ). Ironic that they got the fast forward and lost anyway. :sigh: At least they had their last leg being chauffered around in a limo.......

Anyway, on to tonight's episode...:mex:

They were too far behind. When they got to England the others were already in Scotland. But you would have thought since they won the fast forward that they would have had a quicker mode of transport.

Re: Amazing Race

I am so glad those 2 Harvard girls were eliminated...."oh maybe it means we walk into the place??" Idiots! Like you can drive a car into a building! And they wondered why they hadn't seen anyone else! Daddy must have paid for them to get into Harvard - obviously no brainwaves registering there.:flush:

Oh, and how did you like how they effectively blocked off the 2 black guys? AND used them because of it, AND blocked them off again later on, AND crashed the car into those poles.....
I'm glad they were penalised! :flush:

I don't like the way that old guy Ian carries on to his wife. He gets a bit too agro and disrespectful to her sometimes - She;'s hardly in her 20's when it comes to physical acheivement. Plus I've noticed he bails out on some of it, leaving her to do it for both of them - then he harasses her about it later on when she's obviously exhausted.

Do you think Jill is more of a guy than John Vito?? (why the 2nd name I wonder??) DH and I were discussing this last night. We reckon she's probably got more balls than he has. :winkwink:

Re: Amazing Race

I thought exactly the same thing about the two girls. How did they ever get into harvard when they couldn't read a simple instruction. Jill definately has more balls than John Vito. I think she is very determined to win because in the first ep. she said that she applied to be in amazing race 2 but then her brother died in the sept.11. I don't like the old guy either but I must admit their persistence and doing those task which a couple of the younger teams wouldn't do I really admire. I hope I am that gun ho about life at that age. I loved the look of the black guy when the old couple got a taxi straight away and they were still in the shop waiting..:nahnah:

I don't know how that poor woman puts up with that silly old man (Ian?). He'd be black & blue by now if he was my hubby! :ontome:

I couldn't stop laughing when I seen that twit hit the pole.....
You could just see it coming.....
How they are going to be lawyers is beyond me!:eyebrow: Like Angie said, if they can't follow a simple instruction then they have NO hope! LOL
I still haven't figured out who I want to win yet, I haven't got to know them.

Re: Amazing Race

 Well one thing's for sure, if those two Harvard idiots had made it through, they would've been putting unleaded in their car too, what do you bet!

Honestly, that old guy Ian is such an idiot! Teri even asked him before he stopped the car if it was diesel they needed and not unleaded. He not only didn't listen but didn't look either. It's kind of like "Oh no, I'm the man, if it's car related, I know all the answers!"
Can you believe it was 4/8 who did that too?! And not one of them considered the possibility that somebody else made the same mistake, did they? They just hoped that somebody had made a mistake.

I wonder who paid for it all out of their own pockets? I'm pretty sure the 2 who got eliminated did. I know that one of the others got it done on the insurance and the old couple did it themselves. I don't know what the one's who got towed did.

So after all of that, all 6 of the brothers ended up in front of the pack again.

Re: Amazing Race

Is it not just common sense that when you get into a strange car that you actually find out what kind of petrol to put in beforehand????? These people had me dumbfounded!!

Ian is such a twit! But I have to say that his wife is getting to look just as stupid, did anyone hear her say that her hubby was so clever because he knew how to drain out the unleaded & put the diesel in (on the side of the road)?? I mean c'mon lady!! If he wasn't so stupid to begin with......
I still say that man needs a swift kick in the rear end LOL

I'm a bit sad that those 2 were eliminated last night (sorry can't think of their names) I think they were one of the only teams that were down to earth & had some wits about them.

Well Angie, you should be happy now that Arianne's gone. Mind you I don't blame you - there's something about her I didn't quite like either - especially when she opens her mouth.

How do you like 911 being driven to the wrong place and then being detained by the police. I wouldn't have given them my passport either, would you?

:gagme: For a minute there I thought we'd spoiled the outcome for you.
I guess the chances of someone taping it and watching it later aren't bad and then we come in and yap about it all here and spoil it for you.

But now I see the real reason why :rotflmao:. I am on your side though - I wish it was on all the time!

But I'll just be happy with the fact that channel 7 are actually doing the job properly for a change. Gee, who would have thought???

Lol I thought I might have to start doing some moderating there for a minute:sillyme:.

Melissa you were right I was jumping up and down with joy when she was told they were eliminated:mex:. Now just for that guy Ian. I really don't know how his wife puts up with him. What about how he carried on about that taxi and then saying when he makes a descision it is a descision, but yet his wife was right about getting off the freeway earlier and he didn't want to listen. How about those guys being detained how scary is that. What I was wondering was obviously there is a cameraman with every team because they are in the cars with them, was the cameraman asked for his passport as well...:hmm:..

Yeah that was a bit freaky....I was wondering if they'd been set up for a robbery or something!! There's no way I would have handed over my passport either

Did anyone hear Ian saying to his wife "COME" like she was a dog or something?? (Can you tell that Ian REALLY rubs me up the wrong way?? LOL)
So who has an idea of who they want to win? I still can't pick a team. :sigh::hmm:

 Gee, I wonder why Ian irritates everyone so much??
Not only all of that, but he tells her to "suck it up" when he's in front of her, but if she's in front of him telling him to hurry up, he has a go at her. She's no spring chicken either, or hasn't he noticed!

As for who I'd like to see win.....you know I really wouldn't mind if the 2 older, balding brothers won. They're pretty good humoured, and imagine everyone elses reaction if they do.
I'll leave 2nd and 3rd place up to the twins and.....???
Who's left now anyway???

Ian and Terri - I want eliminated...
JV and Jill......I'm not sure
911...they are pretty hopeless at some things - like reading a map, so maybe they should be eliminated too.....
The twins - to place.........
The old, bald guys - to win.........
Did I miss anybody????
