Easter Recipes

Does anyone have any favourite easter recipes they would like to share - or any family traditions.

When my dad was alive on either Good Friday or Easter Saturday he used to make these bread things shape them into a figure 8 or just a donut shape and pop a egg on top and bake them and then on Easter we would eat them. Every year I say that I need to make them and then for one reason or another I don't. I would love to start something like that with my kids as that is something I remember.

Re: Easter Recipes

I know what those are. I've had them two ways, one where the dough is like that of a cookie ( kind of crisp & flakey) and one where the dough was like a sweet bread. I like both ways, but never eat the egg. How great that your Dad used to make them...I've yet to see my Dad knead anything
My MIL was over today and she brought me some of these traditional Easter cookies she makes. I'm not sure what they're called, they kind of look like a flattened football and are stuffed with some sort of grape jam & nuts (my side of the family stuffs them with figs & nuts) I used to HATE them with a passion, but somehow, I seem to have aquired a taste for them and enjoy them with my coffee. By the way, I don't know how to make any of these, I hope to learn some day.

My inlaws make those jam pastry things - At first I didn't like them either but now I don't mind them
