Dishwashers
What sort of dishwasher do everyone have?
Ours is a really old Simpson - probably about 20 years old. It does leak a fair amount and doesn't always clean everything that well, but it still runs.
If you had to buy a new one, which one would you buy?
I have one that has probably run its course now its warn out and very tempermental - and Dom is thinmking of trading it in for a newer model
Its me

Re: Dishwashers
I dont have a dishwasher anymore The one we had at our last place was almost brand new and worked really well but I cant for the life of me remember what brand it was
@ Ang I had a dishwasher once in a place we rented a while ago & it was an antique. I think it was quicker to wash up myself than use it I really like those double drawer ones
I only bought my first ever dishwasher when I was pregnant with Lucy - about 3 years ago. It's a Fisher & Paykel (Nautilus). I really can't see any electrical things to last 36years anymore - they don't make 'em like they used to!
I can't remember when dishwashers came in.

No, that's true isn't it - look at the really old fridges - there's still a lot around from the 40's 50's 60's, but these days they can just go kaput after 10 years.
hi, i'm orel and i'm currently doing a history project about simpson dishwasher in university of new south wales. would help me providing some information about simpson dishwasher you have and a photo on the dishwasher would me much appreciated. thank you so much
Hey, I have a Fisher and Paykel dishdrawer. Its really great since we are on tank water and can do smaller loads, but it has to be stacked properly. I can't really compare it to anything... the last one I used (the only one too) was antique... I DO know it is better than the job my hubby does!! I can say that the stainless isn't all I thought it would be.... it has 'watermarks' on it that I am told are there to stay! It has to be plumbed in too. **I read that you can dishwash with bicarb instead of the usual chemical cocktail - has anyone tried that?
