quick report- the comp was great! the new format worked well (you now get bonus points for flashing problems) and even though i didnt go as well as I would have liked (and i came away with 2 sizable & rather painful bloodblisters) we had a great time- in the opens there was guys like chris webb, sam berry, steve gardner etc. and it was great to be able to hang out and climb with guys like that.
the problems (which were set by james scaraborough, who we also had a good chat to) were absolutely classic quality. thanks to everyone who made this event happen... |

we left at the end of the finals (ie. didnt stay for the presentations) so im not definate- i think chris webb would have come in first, followed by either steve gardner or tom. in the womens sam berry easily took it out.
i didn't do as well as i would have liked- i worked/sent about 4 or 5 problems that were worth 49/50 points, but then i was so pumped out that in the last half hour i ran around doing mid 30's (flashing them so that they come to about 40) i was happy with the first few problems i sent, but because i didnt have enough endurance to keep it up i only scored about 420 in the end :ohwell: congras to sean powell (the guy i was climbing with) he scored 496 to come in 2nd (u18s) |
