I found them very helpful. There's some spectacular areas around Armidale, check it all out.

Unfortunately we walked off down the track on the wrong side of the gorge and before we got anywhere, it started to rain. It's worth a round trip coming down the coast and climbing on the lovely granite around Port Stephens on the way back.
