What is the most kid friendly area at Wingello ?
That is: - short, easy walk in. - no drop offs near the belay - flat play area near the belay. |

The noli ne tangerene side is the easiest access for kids and a flat base.....once you at the base of the crag apart from Efugio wall. .....San pedro...Candy deck...most of the areas are very flat with no cliff to fall off.

How far is the walk from the car to the wall ? If this is the right spot, it looks about a 700m walk :
http://tinyurl.com/7su7btm Our baby is getting very heavy if he decides he doesn't want to walk in or out. I assume it is a track in, with no scrambling ? How steep is the "steep hill" section ? It looks as though it might be similar to the walk to Moto Cross. We carried our baby in there when he was smaller, and rapped in with him. He's too big for that now but I doubt that he would walk the distance either. |

If you have a 4wd our Subaru you can drive all the way to the car park...rather than park at the fire memorial car park.......from there its a flat walk down an small easy gully...5mins........if no 4wd going up the hill carrying a child would be hard work

Thanks Rod. Sounds great. From google maps, it looks about 250m from the lower carpark to Noli Ne Tangere.
We have an X-Trail which is good for anything but very steep trails ... like the one down to the dam at Dam Cliffs, that I've seen some guys tackle. |

X trail will get there...my cars a soft roader Tiguan and has no troubles...though it had troubles this weekend at another new crag and is currently at Mt Vic work shop waiting for a new fuel tank after it ruptured on a Blue Mts trail.

Doesn't sound like much fun. It must have been interesting getting towed from a fire trail.
Looks like we have a mob heading down to Wingello. Is it best to camp in the "Camp HQ" camping area or do you camp closer to the crag ? |

Nah ...manged to get back to service center at Mt Vic b4 I ran out if diesel.
Camping officially not allowed at Foiemans memorial as it is Nat park. Camp ground on the way in is pretty well set out, flat, grassy pit dunny etc...but can get crowded....if you want to get away you can camp at the clearing at the 8.6km mark...its is flat and still in state forest. http://www.climb.org.au/index.php?page_id=10&action=crag&crag_id=314 |
