Nowra

Hey all,

I have been working down at Nowra today, and about to head off. Its dissapointing being so close to the crag but no one to climb with. Is there any good bouldering areas at Nowra that are not too hard. Or should I just try my luck and hopefully there will be someone at TP that will belay for me..

Ideas???

Thanks

Bundy

Re: Nowra

I went to TP car park, and there was a car there, so I went there to have a look, but no climbers. Oh well, just good to have a look around and find some projects for winter. There is just so many good looking routes, but so few winter weekends.

Re: Nowra

You now my thoughts on bouldering Rod.

I was working in the South Nowra industrial area, so TP was just so close. I am sorry, I will take your advice next time.

By the way, if one was to get into bouldering, what is a good crash mat to buy, that does not cost the earth.

There's some good problems around The Lot.

If you find a cheap crash mat, could you let me know where too?

Thompsons Sunrise

Mr Hawk,

Thompsons Sunrise is pretty easy to get to. Just drive to TP as normal, but instead of parking down near the cliff park in the clearing 500m or so back from the cliff. There is a sign (I cant remember what is says) there on the edge of the clearing when you enter the bush, there is a path there at the sign, and follow this down to the crag. There is heaps of easy stuff there, and a good 18 (simimlar climb to Vanderholics and Diddy Kong), also a great 22. Some other climbs as well. I think Rod Y has put some more up but I haven't been back..

Re: Thompsons Sunrise

I should have read your post correctly.

I was working in the gong, and popped in the hangdog on the way home and had a climb with my mum. I was chatting to Rod, and he drew me a map and toppo with all the routes. But that was ages ago..

Re: Thompsons Sunrise

not that i am aware of. there has been a heap of development of the grotto cliff line since the last guide. there is some much rock around nowra though. just drive west and you find cliffs everwhere.
