rebolted Offal Dredger at The Gib Mittagong

Being a bit of a cross towner (Syd/ melb, and back) I like to have things to climb en route. Sometimes I stop at Big Hill (Tubb's Hill) near Euroa. Here's another one, The Gib (Gibralter Peak) at Mittagong has a stellar 22 called Offal Dredger. Hand drilled on beautiful; brown volcanic rock in the early 80's. It's about 3km south of Mittagong, drive to the top and walk down 30 seconds to Jellore lookout. You can scramble down a gully on the south, or rap 50m off some combination of fence, dodgy tree under small block, and 2 carrots. best to leave a rope as the anchors are back from the edge

I drove down to Melbourne on Thursday arvo, stopped off at The Gib, and abseiled down Offal Dredger, gazing at a wide range of rusty Yosemite split pins, 1/ 4 inch bolts and rusted out wires, and put in 16 10mm trubolts with hangers, jugged out, and was back at the car in 55 minutes and on my way south. So it is now
P1 16m trad to 2BB
P2 22 leftwards, all bolts to 2BB
P3 22 leftwards all bolts, tree and railing belay

I need to pull all the old crap (I think a ground down jemmy bar and some pitons can be used to pull the Yosemite rivets), and give it a brush. I might retro P1 too, The corner on the left is an awesome 24, that desperately needs rebolting too

Hey Mikl,
Do you know whether there is a guide to the area? I checked it out on the way down to pt perp last time. There seems to be heaps of rock, albeit mostly easy angled.

Cheers,

Pete.
