Big thanks to Mitch and the Rebolting fund for all the work at Bardens. I checked out last Sunday, there must be nearly 10 routes that have recently been rebolted. This would have cost around $500+ in materials, not to mention the days of labour. http://www.climbinganchors.com/Donate.htm This crag is one of the best sport climbing setups in the mountains now. All the routes are on new rings with lower offs. There is something for everyone here: Excellent 17/8/9 classics, (these are way better than the Grey Slab at Shipley). Electic Blue is GOLD. Heaps of goodness in the 21==>24 range. and for the hardmen there is Flesh (which has also been rebolted). Once again, thanks Mitch for all the hardwork. If you plan on heading out here to clip a few of the bolts, please make sure you donate 1st. It is very simple to do, just click on the link below - every dollar helps.. http://www.climbinganchors.com/Donate.htm |

Yeah nice work Mitch and others.
Will this crag be the new Shipley? Still lots of rock down there. I'll set up my stall at the car park selling coffee, hot dogs, ice cream and beer for the masses. |

I agree, Bardens is a great crag and getting a lot of visitors (there was a cricket crowd down there sunday!). Such a shame people who enjoy the safety of climbing these routes on nicely prepaired new bolts fail to provide adequate support to the freedom they take for granted. A few $$$ by people would go a long way to the minority that spend their time and effort to create (or improve existing) lines.
So come people, donate some money and don't rely on the minority to give you the comfort to climb in safety. http://www.climbinganchors.com/Donate.htm |

totaly dudes
we fork out loads of $$ for our other climbing gear, trad weirdos spend hundreds on their anchors but we sport freaks seem to just take bolts for granted. So a little donation is the least we can do. |
