Dam Cliffs Rebolting

Radio Baghdad (26) has been very recently rebolted, along with parts of the neighbouring routes Voice of America (23) and Nobody's War (24). There is a single bolt anchor between Lay La Kay (22) and War and Peace (25), with a short line of ring bolt holes drilled underneath for a new route.

Does anyone know who did this work? Are they going to finish it soon? We're putting together info for the new BM guidebook so if they want it included they'd need to hurry!

Nice job on Radio Baghdad, first time I've seen chalk on that for a while.

Post here when you've finished and hopefully it'll be in time for the book.

And now that I've let the cat out of the bag better watch someone doesn't go and put their own ring bolts in those holes you've kindly drilled...

"watch someone doesn't go and put their own ring bolts in those holes you've kindly drilled". It happened to me in Qld, but I doubt the offender would stray below the border.

I dont mean to be rude since i dont know how to bolt a climb myself, but why was Voice of America (23) and Nobody's War (24) rebolted with fixed hangers. Or am i wrong they were never rebolted.

I think you'll find they are the original bolts.

Re: Radio Bagdad

Recommend a (#2.5/3?) cam between the first and second bolts. T'would be a gnarly place to deck.

Re: Dam Cliffs Rebolting

The single anchor and line of ring-bolt holes referred to in the original post above were given to me by JJ. The holes have been filled and they are now a short bouldery 23 called Dictator in a Deerstalker. See ACA web site for full details.

Also rebolted the two routes in Shady Alley, Bourke's Backyard (18) and Water Resistance (19). Used stainless glue-in carrots to maintain that old-school feel but added lower-offs as walking off from up there was a pain in the arse. Note that I haven't filed the bolt heads but I carefully checked them with PFH 45-degree bolt hangers and they fit fine.
