Rebolting Funds Available

Hi Peoples,

Ive got several hundred $ available for rebolting use (from both donations and my business). if anyone has any rebolting projects in mind could they contact me. I dont have a lot of time free at the moment so havn;t got any plans in the immediate future but can supply equipment to people interested in replacing some dodgy bolts.

speaking of which anyone want to take a look at mortein wall? some of the old hangers there might be worth replacing (im sure they are still fine for the immediate future) and a lot of the anchors just have a single U bolt lower off. its a fairly high trafic area so could benefit from a refit!

Steve

That's great Steve,

Garth and I (Australian Climbing Consultants) just donated $500 to the Sydney Rockies Rebolting fund, so there should be plenty of $ out there to get some things done.

I should have some time over winter to do some rebolting in the Blueys. Any suggestions. I had thought about the railway cliffs - but it might have to wait till it warms up a bit.

I would be keen to help out at the Railway cliffs. Might be worth waiting for some warmer weather though. Perhaps we could organize a working bee day to rebolt a bunch of routes out there. We might be able to get permission to drive a car down the track to carry gear if we organized it well ahead.

indeed the railway cliffs could do with an upgrade. i was meaning to get there over summer but time slipped away. the routes are good quality so traffic would surely increase if the ahrdware was upgraded.

Hi All,

I donated a bit of money at Christmas for re-bolting. I was out at Bowens yesterday and thought two of the bolts on 97% fat free looked a bit suspect (I think is the 3rd and 4th) and would like someone to take a look replace if necessary. Iím not a bolter so I may be wrong. I would be happy to head out there with someone to assist in the maintenance.

i can provide the glue and bolts for this but very unlikely the time as bowens is a little far to walk for a 2 and 5 year olds

We were climbing there last weekend and didn't think they were all that bad. I will have a look at them this weekend and see what they are like.
Maybe with all the rain we are getting something has happened to the rock around the bolts, but that area seems to be pretty dry regardless of the weather.

Hey Chris,

If you think they are fine then they probably don't need replacing as you would know better than me. I dont think 97% fat free would ever get wet and was dry yesterday.
