SuperBowl-Steelers vs. Seahawks

Imagine a #6 seed being given the early nod by oddsmakers in Las Vegas over a #1 seed that thoroughly destroyed their opponent in the NFC Championship game. I wonder if ken still thinks the Steelers don't deserve to be there or if he's gone and gotten himself a reality check yet. LOL.

I thought the Colts were the #1 seed.

Betters are going where the habitual Steelers fanatics are going at this early moment.

Pittsburgh has never been the center of the universe, tho it is the pothole capital of the USA.

Yes. The Steelers do not deserve to be there.

You are exhibiting such passion for a team you have never lived near. At least I lived near the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1950's and 1960's, plus their team's name was the same as my Little League team's.

And I still have devotion to teams/cities I used to live in.

The Steelers beat Indianapolis with a huge amount of luck.

No amount of luck will help them against Seattle.

Seattle Seahawks 35 ~ Pittsburgh Steelers 14.

Re: SuperBowl-Steelers vs. Seahawks

ken, once again you're misinformed. Seatlle was the #1 seed in the NFC and the Steelers used to hold training camp on the campus of the University of Rhode Island. Since when does someone have to live near a team to like them? You think all Yankee fans live in the metro NYC area? i don't know anything about Pittsburgh being the pothole capital of the world but I do know alot of bitter old men make Florida the frustration capital of the world.
As for the Steelers not deserving to be there, they beat the #3, #2 and #1 seeds in the AFC to get there, all in those teams' home stadiums. I always thought you were a pretty rational guy when it came to betting and sports ken, but now I'm just thinking you must have lost alot of money betting against the Steelers and now are just angry at being so foolish. You want to give me 3 TD's I'll take that bet but right now I'm taking bets giving or getting nothing, just making people take the bet on an even playing field. That's how a true fan believes in his team.

Re: SuperBowl-Steelers vs. Seahawks

It was a fluke that the Steelers even got into the playoffs behind the other wild-card team Jaguars ~ and weren't there other AFC teams in the hunt until the final week?

It was sort of a fluke that on the very first play from scrimmage the Bengals QB Carson Palmer was taken outta the game with a serious Steeler-inflicted injury.

Your Rhode Island connection to the Steelers is very tennuous at best.

That's like saying since the Houston Astros baseball spring training camp is closest to me they must be my team. How pathetically silly!

The Colts were the #1 seed in the AFC, and that's what I was saying.

Most sane Yankee fans are either living in the NY metroplitan area: NYC, Long Island, northern NJ, Connecticut, or are from one of those places.

What makes you so "all-seeing" to make such a bigoted statement about "knowing" that "bitter old men make Florida the frustration capital of the world?"

Gee, most sane people support the team from their city or region, especially when that team has won 3 of the last 4 SuperBowls (Patriots).

Almost all sane Yankee fans either moved from or live in the NYC metropolitan area.

Two of my former neighbors were Steeler fans, but they lived in Pittsburgh 10-40 years ago. They died 2 to 3 years ago so I guess according to your definition they were "bitter old men."

Tell me precisely who you know in Florida are the "bitter old men" making "Florida the frustration capital of the world."

I never once made a bet on any sporting event, so you can just stop with asinine presumptions. As I indicated in your other thread, I don't gamble, except on the stock market, and with Dell stock in the 1990's and Google in 2004/2005 both turned out to be sure things so there was no gambling involved.

IMHO the Steelers should not have been given a wild card entry into the playoffs ~ the only teams with playoff berths should be the winners of their divisions, and that's all.

Otis wins the playoffs/SuperBowl predictions, also having taken the lead and winning the regular season predictions in the last two weeks of the season:

Otis: 6-5
ken: 4-7 (aaaarrrggh!)
smiley: 3-4

This was absolutely the worst officiated SuperBowl ever. At the end of the first half the female ABC-TV sports reporter noted from the sidelines that the Seahawks should have been leading 24-0 at the half, as two outrageous penalties called back TDs, Roethlisberger did not get into the end zone for his TD, and another Seahawk TD catch was ruled outta bounds even though it was obviously in bounds.

Many people today have stated that the MVP should have been the refs, as the Steelers were nothin' without them.

I been to/through Pittsburgh 6 times since 1983, and it's always been the "pitts", and the pothole capital of the USA is metropolitan Pittsburgh. That's all they should be known for.

Long live the New England Patriots, oh, and the Tennessee Titans, San Diego Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers!
