FAQ: Setting Your Date/Time Feature

Clem brought something to my attention that I had to neglected to explain to everyone. You have the ability to set the time/date on the board to your own time zone so it will display properly for you.

To do this, you click on the "User Cp" button and then go to "Edit Settings". The third item down is where you change the time zone. It'll say Time Zone GMT+ ___hours. Disregard the + sign if you are in the US. Here's what you'll need to type in for most US time zones if you are on Daylight Savings Time (if not, add one hour):

Eastern -4 (type in the - sign)
Central -5
Mountain -6
Pacific -7

When the time changes, we'll have to add an hour. Save the settings and you should now be able to see post times in your own zone.

If anyone has any questions about other time zones, feel free to ask!

Re: FAQ: Setting Your Date/Time Feature

When I first set up my user profile, I did notice the time zone value and had it set, but did not heed the "+" parameter, in fact we are minus GMT, not plus. That was what was threw me .. or pushed me across the International date line, so to speak.
