wav files

Okies....I've read in here somewhere that in order to send in wav files into the Cheers chatroom....everyone must have them to hear them ?...is there a list ? or a website you can get these from ?.... I don't get it....as a former Host...we used to go to a website....download them ....save then to a "file" and then with the "flags" set on my computer...i could send them into the room. At that time only "Hosts" or "Moderators" could do this, but now I see anyone can...I'm using microsoft 2.5 to enter the chatroom....I'm cornfused...as usual.

Re: wav files

Duck,

'K...you do need to have the same wavs on your computer that someone else plays for you to be able to hear them also. If you're using 2.5, the file they need to be stored in is your Windows Media folder (it's a different folder for other chat programs). If you've already saved wavs somewhere else, you can use Windows Explorer and move your wavs over into Windows Media (drag and drop). Also, if you rename the files, you won't hear them when played from someone else.

As far as where you get them, there's lots of different wav sites online...depends on what you're looking for. Easiest thing is just to Google it. If someone plays something in the room that you really like, you can ask them to send it to you (email, IM, etc).

Hope this helps a bit...if you still have questions, give us a shout.

"I wish old Uncle Bilius was still with us, though; he was a right laugh at weddings."

"Wasn't he the one who saw a Grim and died twenty-four hours later?" asked Hermione.

"Well, yeah, he went a bit odd toward the end," conceded George.

"But before he went loopy he was the life and soul of the party," said Fred. "He used to down an entire bottle of firewhiskey, then run onto the dance floor, hoist up his robes, and start pulling bunches of flowers out of his --"
