Warmachine

I noticed someone talking about Warmachine in the thread "PRICE HIKE"

I'm checking out their website and its got some nice looking models! In case you haven't checked out their range, here's some of the models I was fond of.
Bane Thralls

These would make great Dark Eldar models

I'm thinking Nurgle

A Khorne dreadnought?

I'm not sure the price difference between GW and WM but I'm sure there's some cheaper options in Warmachine somewhere. Hey, seems like an interesting game anyway for those looking for a sub for GW games.

Re: Warmachine

It definitely is a nice game. Oh, you didn't mention that the Iron Lich makes a beautiful Necron Lord, too. ^^

I've played it often, it kicks butt.

Re: Warmachine

There are quite a few others, for example this pack, which can provide alternative skeletons, a Chaos heroine, and a VC hero:

Re: Warmachine

If you're interested in trying Warmachine or Hordes out, stop by at Cangames either friday evening, saturday evening or sunday all day.

You can check the exact times in the schedule at Cangames' site.

Cheers

I'm afraid Can Games may be a little out of the way for Gim... like three time zones.

Re: Warmachine

If you think the Bane Thralls are nice, check out the Bane Knights [381 clicks]. Pretty damned sweet. I got my first boxed set about a month ago, and I can't stop playing. I'm going to pick up another model or 2 on Tuesday (Yay! Finally getting my
Paladin of the Order of the Wall [315 clicks]!). Anyone who wants a cheaper, faster paced alternative to GW's games should deinetly find a Press Ganger near you and give it a try. And to top it off, they have absolutely GORGEOUS miniatures.

(Edited 'cause my stupid fingers can't spell)

Re: Warmachine

Wow, that Paly is nice! I have to say, a lot of people have said that GW has got some of the best crafted minis around but Warmachine is right up there with em. Definitly going to look for them on my next trip to the hobby shop. I'm considering just getting a squad to paint, maybe go from there.

Re: Warmachine

Aron Figaro - I'd love to have a game with you, but you'll either have to wait for CanGames (heres hoping there are some open Warmachine tables), or trek out to Toronto.

Gimianax - That Paladin is probably my favourite miniature in the entire Privateer Press line, and is the whole reason I chose to play Menoth as my primary faction.

Re: Warmachine

Yeah haha, if you can't tell from the links above, I've definitly got a thing for Cryx. Great looking models.
I'm from Sacramento, Ca. but damn I wish we had a good Cangames here. The GW Gamesday events are too far away for an eight hour event. The players around here don't have a forum, they don't have a decent website, but we do have some great gamers. (If you check the site, you'll notice a month's delay just to get results posted from a tourney in March.) But I've found a great community for 40k here so I'm happy to be a part of it!

Anyway, the Kings just shut out the Spurs so I have to go celebrate, haha. :pint:

Re: Warmachine

gimianax, if you're interested in trying Warmachine, there's actually 2 Pressgangers in Sacramento, you can see the info here

One of the best Cons in California in my opinion is Kublacon, I usually actually try to make it, can't this year though  Though it is kinda far from you, it's worth the trip. Plus my buddy Dave (arkentyre on the privateerpress forums) is running a GREAT event for Warmachine.

Re: Warmachine

Well, I'll try to be out for CanGames, then. I haven't actually registered to go yet because I really haven't been sure of what I'd do yet. Anyone have some good suggestions, besides Warmachine?

Re: Warmachine

That Kublacon looks like a blast. Thanks for the info. Any idea when it's held? I see pre registration dates but no actual dates for the event itself.
I see they have a free Warhammer tourny as well, very cool.
