You'll probably find more FoW players among the Ottawa Miniature Gamers ...

Re: Flames of War

Well, if you'e a fan of WW2 *and* 40K (I think you like 40K), it's awesome.
It's not the most realistic historical game out there, but it plays well, the models are good, it produces realisitc results (good tactics are rewarded and bad ones are punished) and above all, it's fun.

It does have some gaming mechanincs that take some getting used to at first (shooting at and hitting your enemy depends on THEIR skill, not yours, ie: experienced troops know how to not attact fire or hide from it when it's coming their way while green and inexperienced troops do not) but once you get used to it, it makes sense.

I have equal sized Wehrmacht and Red Army forces if you ever wanna try it out over a beer or two. (my fridge usually stocks plenty of German and Russian beer for added atmoshpere)

Nick

Click Moi!

This is the website, check it out.

Its a tabletop strategy game, much like Warhammer 40k (in fact the rules are partially based off of 40k) and is set in WW2 Europe/Africa/Asia.

Armies available are Germans, Russians, Americans, Italians, Canadians, and likely more by now that I haven't heard of.

Scale is closer to epic than 40k, but not as small as epic, i think they are 1:100 scale, kind of oddball, but they look good and paint up nicely.

Re: Flames of War

No, it's not, but the guys who designed it and make it are/were clearly influenced by 40k and the GW business model on how to make and market a wargame.
