First Imperial Guard list

Hey, just started guard and this is pretty much what i got. Let me know any advice, because I'm a power armor player lost in a world of flak.

I have 18 guards on sprues left, any idea on what i should use them for? Im thinking of going as a drop troop army, and making two 5 man teams with a flamer. But i dont really know what i need. So what do you guys think?

you will likely get some more responses by posting this on the new board, but I will respond to it here anyway.

if your aiming for a 1200 pt army, then 2 5 man squads with flamers and using drop troops would be a pretty good way to go. That will give you 3 units that would be great for deep striking.

I would consider getting a mortar for your command HQ so that you can keep it hidden while making maximum use of the vox.

I don't know if you have the models, but personally I prefer having 3 of the same heavy weapon in my heavy squads, so I would go all lascannons, but to each thier own.

Ya, last night Orbital send me a PM about this new forum, i made the switch, but thanks for replying. I wasn't to sure about mortars, and i had this plasmagun guy that i got for christmas, and i don't trust my ability to not roll a one so it made sense to throw him in with my medic. The missile launcher is incase i dont have any vehicle targets left or insight. I was thinking of changing the special weapons team into a veterans unit, seeing as they deep strike i could use their close range to maximum effect. Thanks for the input, ill be making a mortar for sure, i just didnt know if people used them. Should i drop the standard if i use it?
