We will start with the scene a small townsquare 6x4 table cluttered feild as it were.
The set up having East to West Necrons side "Hdestroyer and 3 Destroyers" a Tombspider middle 2 10 man Necron warriors SQs 5 scarab swarms to the west 1 Lord and a 10 man SQ of Immortals. (Flayed ones x2 ready to deep strike in.) Across the Feild to the East A hive Tyrant with 2 Broods of Guants are hiding behind a building in the middle a Screamer Killer Carnifex running interfearance for 3 tyranid warriors and 18 Hormogaunts. To the West 8 Genestealers with 3 tyranid warriors following. Sneaking up the western flank is the Infiltrated Brood lord with 6 Genestealers. I ofcourse don't go first. Necrons make their move rushing towards Tyranids destroyers up the eastern flank Tomb spider up the middle infront of the warriors Scarabs to a bombed out bulding for cover as they advance. The imortals spin around the building to find the brood lord and his retuine they are all cut down in a hail of fire except the brood lord. My turn time to get moving using fleet of hoof claw or whatever. Gaunts rush the destroyers my oppenent chuckles. then the other brood rushes towards with hive tyrant following. Smile goes away. the hormogaunts jump in and overwhelm the Scarabs. Broodlord dives into the Imortals kills a couple as the tyranid warriors and other Genestealers come for a revenge killing. Turn 2 Look here come from the skies Flayed jumping the gaunts from behind. necrons start getting back up great! The lord rushes into help teh imortals deal with the Brood Lord Brave I say. warriors are moving closer to start shooting I guess. Then some assaulting the flayed rushed in to the gaunts. Guants fall brood lord kills a couple imortals. Now to get more in there. From the sky come flappy winged death for the necron Heavy destroyer. The genestealers and tyranid warriors close the gap to back up the Brood Lord. The second brood of Gaunts jump into the flayed. Carifex goes running into the middle after the warriors as the warriors Jump the tombspider. Hormogaunts still trying to kill teh Scarabs. Turn 3 The necrons well they start firing at the Carnifex that forgot to assualt whoops. He brushes thier fire off in a blood curtling laugh. The brood lord takes a wound 1 0f 3 not bad. Assault phase as the whole of the necrons are now surrounded. A few more gaunts fall but necrons are falling alot. finally the Brood Lord is down. The 2nd Sq of Flayed fall from the sky and lump onto the Warriors attacking the Tomb Spider. The tyranids seeing living flesh are trying to kill em. The imortals stop celebrating as they are crashed by the genestealers and the Tyranid warriors. The desroyers and flayed start to fall they H destroyer is down again. Hive Tyrant jumps into the Gaunt/Flayed/Destroyer fiasco. Gaunts are killing Destroyers and they never got a shot off thats the best part. Carifex steps into the squad of warriors and after they swing it rips 3 apart. The lictor also assaults the other warrior sq. The Hormogaunts fall the last of the Scarabs. The big fun The Necron Lord falls on his face. Turn 4 Necrons are couting points maybe a phase out not yet though. More imortals fall as the only choice necrons have now is HTH and regenerate. The lord is totally dead 1 was rolled on his lets get back up roll. Carnifex wittles the warriors down. Lictor draws out. Guants are clean out by the flayed the other SQ is still fighting strong. Heavy Destoyer is back up and killed againg by the gargoyles. Tyranids rush the hormogaunts the the lictors aid many warriors falling now. Imortals falling too as they are overwhelmed. destroyers all gone. New gaunts without number entering the tables edge. 3 Flayed fall. Turn 5 Necrons roll to recover not enough end up alive the necrons Phase out leaving the tyranids hungry for more. Final Score Tyranids 1004 Necrons 401 A solid win for me and a game of great fun and some questionable rolls as to gaunts killing destroyers. Who knew. Manidow |

Nice. A bit hard to read at times though.
Remark: you can't assault on the turn you deepstrike, so the flayed ones should not have charged you... but it desn't seem to have made much of a difference ![]() |

I am not supprise i played more necron's Vs nid's games that i can count and played with both side and every time the Nid's beat the necron's .
The major probleme is that the nid's are all CC specialist and they move so fast that the necron's cant keep up .

I agree with you completely if your opponent is playing fairly. If your opponent is a cheesehead, he'll bring in 3 units of Wraiths, with a Lord equiped with Res Orb... How does the 'nid player deal with this? I -guess- you can tie them up with Gaunts, but they move as jetbikes.... So they'll probably turboboost to where they need to be... And it's even worse if they're playing with a Monolith and can reroll WBB by portaling them. They have a 3+ invulerable save.. So Lame. Necron Immortals should tear through genestealer armor if they can fire on it - they should fire whilst moving backwards... |

The imortals got surprised by an infitrated Genestealer unit with Brood Lord and the pleasure of first turn.
To be fair since this battle I have been beaten quite nicely twice by this Necron Player! |

Actualy even ifthey have a res.orb it doesnt mean much .
Almot of Nid's can have rending attacks and monstrous creature . so if he want to bring 3 units of wraith that cost 41 pts a pop then let him bring it cause it wont do much againt nid's . As for a monolith the simplest solution is ... IGNORE IT after o many necron as fallen it will just vanish into thin air ( for the time being anyways who knows that the new codex will bring )
