Has anybody tried making 40K Grotz from WHFB Gnoblars?

So, has any DS member tried this? Did the Gnoblars require drastic rhinoplasty before they began to resemble Grotz?

Cheers,

I think they would be perfect grots, even better than the goblin conversions that are popular for this purpose.

A few comments, though:

Gnoblars are smaller in all respects (nose aside), which means that you may have a bit of a challenge getting some of the larger ork or grot weapons to fit their little hands. Converted Imperial weaponry might be more appropriate.

The vast majority of gnoblars are in a stooped position, which means that they look like an appropriate carpet of greenskins when ranked up, but you may find that you want to position them for additional detail visibility; adding some height to their bases may help.

The gnoblar hands and arms are perfect for re-positioning as they can be cut at the wrist and sleeve joins. Despite what the standard figs look like, the models are surprisingly versatile.

Best of luck with the conversions,

- Mike

See that link? See, I am a horrible painter, so my only way of doing 40k art is writing. This is my fluff. I would love it if one of you people would go and read and review it please.

Actually if you compare grots to gnoblars, grots are little smaller, so the fit is perfect usually, as goblins are huge compared to grots and gnoblars alike.

Many thanks for the suggestions, guys! In the meantime, I found a fair number of threads here, too (D'Oh!), even if they are more skeptical:
