You don't know what special rules the special characters bring. That might be the ability of the Salamander character.

Hey Ebineser.. we finally get some lovin for the Crimson Fists (no, Cortex didnt count: any special character who rolls triple 1s to wound the rear of an immobilised rhino doesnt count <yes thats happened to me> )
marty... can i ask a HUGE favor from ya? I kinda-sorta now need about 85 of the RTB-01 pistol-holster things.. I'll take any you can spare.. I know you have a shit ton of sprues.. could I use some of them? OH and if anyone has an old conversion beamer kicking around (Suicide King, im looking at you) |

Yeah Den, I am looking forward to seeing this character. I'm also glad to see that scouts are still troops since that would have put a cramp on the whole "decimated and rebuilding chapter" theme.

Finally some love for my sallies, a special character, can't wait to see what he does
 Now to find all those heavy weapons to fill in the tacs... unless the special character gives you 2 special weapons per squad I have way too many of them. lol I am really looking forward to seeing this codex, with a sally character, that new dread and the Land Raider with Heavy flamer sponsons... and plastic drop pods (if rumours are true...) when is this beautiful book due for?

Rumours say Octoberish, which seems a big long if 5th is coming out in early July.
Anyone remember the delay between 4th release and the first codex? |

well the last few have been for 5th ed. the daemon codex even talks about offensive and defensive grenades which i assume is a 5th ed thing

Yeah, just thinking if 5th edition comes out early July, and the marine dex is late October that's almost four months between releases.
I thought (though I don't remember honestly) that it was only about a month or two after 4th edition release that we had the first codex. (tyranids? Or was that the SM dex then as well... if only my memory worked) |

Den i will inventory what i have left, but I am in assembly/painting phase of my Luna Wolves now and prepping them for 5th Ed. Codex, which means they all need bolt pistols likely.
This Marine army though will have a good variety of things in it, as my beloved Marine horde army will be slightly nerfed with the new 'dex coming out. |
