Deathwing terminators are not just terminators. They're fearless because they're a special unit, not just because they're terminators.
The baal preadator is a variant, just like a leman russ exterminator. When the Black templars were first introduced, they were the only ones with LR crusaders. This again is a variant to me, it's a blood angels thing. It's a bonus rule that their vehicles get. It's not that they say 'this is how a rhino works.', it's a 'here's an additional rule for your vehicles'. Which armies have non-rending asscans? Space wolves I'm guessing? I'm with Denis on this, this is going to cause more problems than it's worth to just do a simple, short FAQ listing the pices of wargear that now work differently for ALL armies concerned, overruling their codicial(TM) entries. Not to mention disenfranchising at least a couple of Dark Angels players, who, against my better judgement, I will strongly suggest using the SM dex until they get another new dex in 2-3 years.

Again arguing both sides here- I feel there should be a faq, but that if there isn't it won't be a big deal.
But the idea that it's going to cause problems is kinda silly- if players can manage to comprehend the concept that this unit is a variant, or this codex's terminators do different things than that codex's terminators I think they'll have a relatively easy time with gear being different across the codex's. Maybe they can consider them "variants" . |

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm simply in overload.
Seriously, if someone posted that vanguard all come with free power weapons, have 3 base attacks, feel no pain, furious charge and litanies of stupid all for say 20 points each, I'd probably believe them.

CRC, ironically enough, the legion of the damned (elites choices) are pretty much what you described except iirc, they have 3+invul saves, reroll deepstrike, relentless and something else stupid?? can't confirm though
edit: i just looked at the updated BOLS link and they have LOTD as 3++ save, reroll DS, A:2

On top of all of what Yao said, they're also NOT 0-1. You can have 3 squads of movie marines-lite in your army.

one more thing, i actually really like the slight difference in stats in the characters: more WS on chapter masters and captains than the other characters and how the BS is one less than the WS, although i was a fan of chaos lords being better at combat than SM equivalents

ANyone who takes one squad of LoTD is mental, let alone 3. They are a huge point sink and not worth a lick. They are a basic tactical squad, that can take a pounding, big deal. A decent round of shooting will wipe them off the board easily.
Also the Razorback with Asscans is nice but very, very overpriced. 40pts. for Razorback w/ TL Heavy Bolters, or 75 pts. for TL Asscans. Bayshore has the Codex in store as a customer open copy if any of you have further questions. The one issue i have that even sets me thinking 'what the fu...?' is that Assault Marines are now only TWO points more than tactical marines. Yep heard that right, Assault marines are a whopping 18 points to a tactical marines 16 points. Looks like i keep my 3 Assault Squads after all (going as BA codex as a guide they had went up 30-50 points per squad with same layout) under this new marine codex, My assault squads are actually 30 points cheaper, and have Krak grenades ![]() |

Also, i forgot to mention...
Long live the horde Marine list. GW made sure we can still (easily) do them. Even my (MLx4) devi squads are down in price. Oh and Chapter Master or Captain on a bike? Hell yes, I'll take a few turbo-boosting scoring units ![]() |

Other thoughts-
~ Vanguard with JP's overpriced ~ Sternguard probably worth it (though not multiple squads as some people are talking about) ~ SC's are (imo) probably not worth their relatively high cost, except for Casius who I think you'll see alot of. ~ Aux grenade launchers are awesome, kinda wish Sgts could take them ~ That scout speeder has got to have the dumbest ruleset ever |
