No, the images aren't bad - actually, I love the images!
However, the pages load really slowly for a couple reasons -
1 - all of the banners appear to be .bmp format - these are HUGE. The 'Dusted' banner is 245K - very large. Saving it as a .jpg reduces it to about 10K - waaaay smaller.
2 - the buttons too, are .bmp - and yes, they are smaller in dimension, but they are still large in file size - 4.55K - saved as .jpg, they are 1.72K.
3 - the background image - which I adore, is 195K, also .bmp; when saved as .jpg, is 5.74K.
Just some suggestions to make the board move faster - b/c a) not everyone has DSL or cable; and b) no one likes to wait for 2 minutes for images to load -- last I counted on my page, it take nearly 90 seconds to load an entire page on my stupid 56K modem that NEVER connects at 56K - always at 32K.
I don't know if the board ittself doesn't allow .gif or .jpg (don't know why it wouldn't), but .bmp files are so huge they make pages load really slowly. Optimizing the images will make a big difference in load time and, overall, increase site traffic - which is the ultimate goal, yes?
