"Have faith that people do their best. I don't know anyone who would eat with pigs out of a trough in a muddy barnyard if he knew that a well-prepared meal was on the table in a clean house - do you?" Greg Baer

"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

Q. Is it really possible to heal NPD?

I kind of relate to Mel's empty nest feeling. I hope the college group is doing well. Please don't be afraid to brag or cry on our shoulders. We still love you!

My good news is that my son and family seem to have survived the worst of the hurricane season. Let me say that I hope like heck this has been the worst of the hurricane season. :knockonwood:

Its touching that we are missed. There's not a lot positive going on right now other than to say the senior year is only a little less crazy that I feared. I'm here and checking in as often as time permits. I even managed to keep my therapy session this week so things are getting a little more calm- at least I think they are.

Last night I had a family outing with siblings and cousins that ended with hugs and tears, not to mention promises to work hard to heal ourselves and work to mend our families. There might be hope for all of us and that is very positive.

This morning my cousin gave me either a late or early (depending on perspective) birthday present. It is the leather jacket that her Father, my uncle, purchased right before he died a couple of years ago. She has held onto to it as a cherished possession of her father and now wants me to have it because she thinks I remind her of him. Its hard for me to show proper gratitude but I really am touched. The healing vibes are growing all around me.

I am actually finding motivation again. I'm being more productive at work and getting things done around the house. It marks the end of a slight depression period for me and I'm happy to be moving forward.

Glad to here the depression is lifting Mel.

Deckshandsdaughter I'm encouraged to here your sister's boyfriend is seeking help. Its always a good sign when a person takes the initiative to work on their issues.

I know I've been scare of late but as I mentioned elsewhere I'm still getting settled in the new digs. I think I should be around more starting this weekend and will start getting caught up. I'll be sporadic for a while so be patient if I'm not always fast to respond.

ILast night my sister and I talked for two hours about things that I don't think I've ever really talked about with anyone- I know I haven't ever talked about with her. It was a very good feeling. I feel as though I'm growing, even though the growth is bringing up some painful issues (some of which I'll address in more detail either later today or this weekend). Overall life is good and I hope it is for others as well.

Long time no see. How's everyone doing? I've got a break from classes for the day and I'm lonely for the people here. The biggest positive I have to offer is that I seem to be more or less on track with my school work. I was told I might panic in the freshman year, but so far, so good.

I have complained and whinned here a fare amount about my lack of coordination and poor exercise habits. Well, tomorrow morning I begin the process of doing something about it. After hearing suggestions from members of this community, my family and other I have registered for Tae Kwon Do classes. I start off as a beginner (white belt) which will be humbling because my 11 year-old niece is a green belt and my 7 1/2 year-old nephew just graduated from the little dragons program and is now in the real program as a low Yellow belt. Its not a competition, and its something I think could really improve my concentration and coordniation. In other words I'm a psyched little kid. :cookiemonster:
