"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

Tae Kwon Domay be just the thing to improve your mental and physical coordination, good luck. My positive is that I just completed a major project for work that I really didn't want to do. Historically I can sabotage any project that my heart isn't really into, so I'm going to thump my chest and play my own tune for a while.

My Mother just left after an unannounced visit to my apartment without once bitching about not knowing how anyone could live in this mess. I guess I'm slowly becoming more civilized.

I survived my first session of Tae Kwon Do and came away feeling good about myself. It might have been the first time I made a conscious decision to improve myself and not worry about my ego saying that I'll never succeed at whatever I'm doing.

Hey guys,

I haven't been around here very much at all recently, but I will be coming back to visit from time to time. UVA is going quite well now that I've settled in - there is a lot of work, and so much else to do in a community of 20,000 teenage and twenty-something people. I've also made some progress with my own healing, emotionally... I cry quite often now, especially in times of stress, which always makes me feel better. Still a long way to go, of course.

I hope everyone else is doing well here, and now I have to go back to work!

Matt

You know, of course, where this other world lies hidden. It is the world of your own soul that you seek. Only within yourself exists that other reality for which you long. I can give you nothing that has not already its being within yourself... All I can give you is the impulse, the key. I can help you to make your own world visible. That is all.

Glad to here school is going well, Matt. I hope the same is true of our other student members. I am throughly enjoying being out of school.

My therapist commented at my last session on how much I've grown over the past year. I still have a ways to go, but it felt really good to hear him say it.

I've been very depressed or stuck lately so I guess the fact that I'm alive and functioning gets to count as a positive. I lurk around and see what folks have been up to, and hopefully I'll be around more.

Last night I got to play babysister for my seven year-old nephew. His dad and older sister are on a hunting trip and Mom wanted a time-out, so I volunteered to help out for the night. I cooked dinner (always an adventure) and we watched Monsters Inc. It was my first time, but I think he can quote the entire movie :ohwell:

I'm going to take some time today to stop, relax, and smell the roses for the first time since moving into the Puget Sound area. My sister, her son and I are going on a long drive to show me some of the sights of the area and to talk about stuff in a relaxed atmosphere. The only thing that might make this day even better would be the Eagles suffering a humbling defeat. :npdhumor:

Its nice to see that football remains a point of bringing people together in healing, or something like that. :ohwell:

My entire family has been very active in helping clean up from the various hurricanes that have blown throw South Florida this season. Its been a jhumbling process and I'm proud to say it was my son who got us all out there and volunteering to help out wherever we are needed. Its been hard work but it reminds me that if we are really committed to healing that there is reason to believe things do get better. I cannot ask for more than that.
