"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

I'm so clogged up with a cold that I can barely breathe. The good news is I can stay home today and catch up on the forums. I've been falling behind lately because school is draining me. So I look forward to finding out more about what's going on in the community.

I forget to mention the most exciting and most postive thing going on right now. Blame the oversight on my cold. My date for the Homecoming dance called me Friday night and asked to go out again. I know some of you thought I didn't handle that all thing as well as I should,, but we had a good time and it looks as though we may stay together. :puppylove:

BTW, please don't blame anything on my cold because it hasn't done anything to you. :npdhumor:

Glad you had fun at the races, Balbrenny.

I made myself stay productive yesterday during the time that would have been filled by the cancelled appointments. I actually sorted through and cleaned up at least a month's worth of stray old business. My desk no longer resembles a disaster area and that does put me in a better mood. I tend to be a slob at my desk and every year I pledge to do better. I'll worry about that when its time for New Year's Reolutions for now I'm enjoying not have to work around a mess.:peace:

The life of luxury. I have nothing to do until 2 o'clock this afternoon so I took advantage and got a full 8 hours of sleep. I'm more wide awake than I've been in a long while. It feels good. I almost feel aware of life.

I feel very serious today. I chose "all-business", I believe, because we have our third counseling session today. I have chosen to make it a positive, productive one.

Peace & balance,

Nandi

Today is a BIG day for our family. My son has completed his application for admission next fall to Central Florida University in Orlando. He will finish out this year as planned in junior college and if everything goes as planned he'll make the move in the fall. A year ago we never dreamed this might even be possible. Way too many things were in the way. Now it looks as though life is a lot better than any of us believed. I'm very proud of the work he has done on so many levels to get to this point. The credit is all with him.

Lately my psychologist has been making a point of beginning our sessions with a comment about how I look really good today, or something to that effect. It tends to leave me feeling queezy. It dawned on me a while back he was trying to get paste the shame and increase my self-esteem. This morning I replied with a simple thank you.

Last night I had a headache - a glass of wine too many at the races! My eldest showed some genuine concern and got me a painkiller. When it came time for our bedtime hug, he also gave me a quick peck on the cheek!

Glad to hear the hugs are still coming around your house, Balbrenny

Yesterday was a very strange day, one that I don't understand but I think had significance. My new step-father is paranoid about keeping good health and going to the doctor the minute anything is wrong. I am very much the opposite. I saw him yesterday and commented that I was feeling tired and might be coming down with the flu. Several hours lated my Mother appeared and said he was worried and wanted me to go to the doctors. She obviously didn't agree with him but we know better than to get into arguments with him oince his mind is made up. I found out that I had a slight temperature and might be coming down with a virus. There is nothing that can be done for me other than rest and drink a lot of fluids. I think this is my step-father's way of expressing love and concern. I don't understand it but maybe it was not meant to be understood. There was a day when I would have fought this but yesterday I relaxed and went along for the ride.

I am even more afraid of going to the Dentist than I am of my visits with the T person. Yesterday I faced the fea of the dentist and got a filling in a tooth which has bothered me forever. The doc gased me up with nitrous oxide and it was almost enjoyable sitting in the chair. Maybe T people should try this approach. It would be a great way to break down a few walls.
