"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

I'm still drug free even though my mind went blank and I don't remember my birthday.

Life sucks right now so I treated myself to a triple scoop at Baskin Robbins. Nothing says healing more than Choclate Mint.

Thursday was my second anniversary in therapy. I'd like to think I'm making progress in the right direction. At the very least I'm staying with the work even though its hard.

As near as I can tell for the first time in my life I have asked someone on a date rather than being asked (which has been a rarity). There truly is a first time for everything. I'm waiting to see where this leads . . .

My husband and I have agreed to do some joint counseling sessions to help us determine if there is anything left in our relationship that might be worth our trying to save. I'm honestly uncertain of where this will lead, but its a start.

having read virtually all through the open topics in the last 3-days after a
real sh-t of a w/e (yes the US elections didn't help my mood either). was a
bit shaky there for a while, but now words can't say how much humility and
gratitude i feel towards you lot for helping me see some things within my
own life that i needed understanding in. it brings peace to me to realise i
have a lot of rage within me myself that i must take care of. i made a lot
of noise, ranting and raving and crying my eyes out this w/e at what a wreck
i've made of my own life, yet a lot of people say i work damn hard - and
it's always been difficult for me right through my life on gauging how i
really am treating others - some who really slog their guts out for me.
well, i thought i had really lost it last w/e, and all that really hard work
of healing for years had been properly undone and for nothing. but - to keep
it short - i think my rage and tears were quite a catalyst - supplemented in
no small part by what i've read here. i think having others speak for me all
my life and assume so damn much of what i'm feeling, or what i should be
feeling, has given me a lot of confusion and pain inside. time i let others
embrace that too instead of me always being too brave to let people in.

it makes me keen to work in order to get in a place where i'm relaxed enough
with myself so that i can see others as more human too.

My therapist asked me recently how I felt when I looked in the mirror. It caught me by suprise because its been such a long, long time since I've looked in the mirror. I noticed something kind of interesting. I see a life in my eyes I've never seen before. Maybe I wasn't looking? Its kind of cool. Maybe it will help get some of my energy back?!

I just mailed the check for the last payment on my initial college loan. Its a good feeling :cookiemonster: Now that the first loan is paid its time to start all over again. :ohwell: I think I'll try and keep the happy thought of paying off the first one and worry about what comes next just a little later.

I spent most of yesterday afternoon visiiting a local kanagroo farm with my 7 year-old nephew. The kid has incredible energy and reminds me to stay in touch with my inner child. An important thing to remember for us all as we travel along in our respective journeys.

Have fun :cookiemonster:

I have joined a Zen Buddhist community more to explore a new way to search for my soul then for any other reason. The people are very accepting of me and I feel as though I'm already opening new doors within myself that I either never knew existed or had long since forgotten about. I feel like a child starting something new. As my son might say its kind of cool!
