"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

Q. Is it really possible to heal NPD?

Today I had an appointment at 9 a.m. and I was there ON TIME! (okay so i didn't shower but i was on time!!!!!)

:npdhumor: One step at a time, Steely.

I learned another important lesson about being peaceful yesterday. I was doing some work on a website and nothing was going right. I felt myself feeling a desire to throw the *$@! machine into a tree. Instead of acting on this anger I went for a walk, came back much more relaxed, and did in a few minutes what I hadn't been able to do in a couple of hours of getting angry. I keep hoping these lessons will become second nature one day soon.

Todaty I learned that a shoulder problem I have is an injury and not repetitive strain which means I don't have to give up the drum....woohoo....Tc... Thanks for your concern...the grief was for someone who died 2 years ago around this time...still some hurt there...it's OK though...I am actually happy that I can express this grief so freely....

My girlfriend decided that I've had a bad couple of weeks and surprised me last night with my own pet giraffe. Okay, its a stuffed toy. I've joked several times that I wanted a giraffe and she finally decided to get me one. His name is Jerome and he's happily living on the shelf hanging over my computer at home. Its amazing how the little things in life can uplift your spirits. Its a nice feeling to know there really is someone who cares when life becomes a burden. :cookiemonster:

I went with my boyfriend to his son's wedding this past Saturday and met his mother, siblings, AND his ex-wife, and I made it through alive. :scary: My boyfriend even told me he got all positive feedback about me from everyone, so I guess I didn't come off as too much of a weirdo.

CB, you're every bit as normal as the rest of us. :scary:

I'm curious if his exwife had any juicy tidbits on how evil this person is and how he's bound to destroy your life?

Finals are coming up the week after next but I've decided not to kill myself with cramming. I've done well all year and have confidence I can do well on the finals. So I'm going to pace myself and allow myself some me time instead of freaking out .

Yesterday I started working with a new diabetes specialist. A certain irony here is her name is Dr. Love  It really didn't dawn on me until writing here this moring how love comes into our life in some interesting ways.

Today is going to be interesting because I am having dinner with my girlfriend's Father and brother - speaking of fear. I have already played in my mind how they'll reject me, but I'm also feeling a strange peace. It will be interesting to see how this plays itself out.

And if that doesn't scare the pants off you nothing will :evillaugh:

This living in the moment stuff has prompted to enroll in a mediation class. Something I never thought I'd ever do. So far it seems a little strange to just sit. I have to laugh because my teacher keeps saying don't do something just sit there. Kind of a different feeling for one whose mind loves to travel.

That quiz is weird in that twice I swear I put down the right answers it says, and it says no one got these correct. My mouse is upset now…but i'm being positive that it's just being a bit of a looney day today.

am also sure though that there could be more deep and meaningful posts i could write.

don henley once sang, "are you sane enough to be crazy, strong enough to be weak?". well put, i think.

Tony, I got a lump in my throat when you were talking about meeting your girlfriend's father. I had a vision of "Meet the Fockers."

Dracula, meditating is awesome. Once you get the hang of it, you can control the constant chatter going on in your head. I'm somewhat hyper-active and it has really helped me.

Kay, quoting Don Henley is deep and meaningful!

I haven't taken the quiz because I'm not eligible for the big surprise to whomever gets the highest total. I'll see if others are complaining about this and if so see what the problem is. I agree that quoting Don Henley is deep. I still crack up every time I think of his song, "Boys of Summer" and seeing a Dead Head sticker on a Cadilac. That, and the entire song of End of the Innocence run through my mind every time I think of him.

The dinner was more successful than I feared. I haven't talked more about it because it seems my mind has been elsewhere. I think I passed inspection because we are going out on a foursome with her brother's girlfriend this weekend.
