I spent yesterday with a dear friend who is entering the final stage of terminal cancer. No matter what else I can say about the horrors of life at least I have my physical health.

I love this thread! Zachery, it's so cool that you feel good during your alone with yourself time! Blabreeny, I'm so glad you and your son had a blast! TC, maybe you should start a thread on how you are carrying your anger differently-- I'd love to see it! Free-of-fem, thank you for spending time with your friend in her dying. Having been through cancer, I know how hard it was for some of my friends to be with me through that time, and I had a 85% chance of getting better. I think walking with mortality-- either through our own illness or supporting someone in their dying-- changes how life looks immensely. Facing the reality that will happen to all of us has helped me meake better choices.

I am listening to Bach again, St. Matthew Passion, which for some reason always makes me feel peaceful. My son is at his preschool, which he loves, and I am doing self-care-- checking out this board, then going to go to lunch, and visit a friend this afternoon. A friend of mine who is a writer (really good) sent me a short story to read and comment on, and I feel very honored, so I'll be doing that today too. It's good to post here on the days I can stay motivated and active-- it's such a depression buster! And with these gray days, I need that!

I woke up and realized that I made it again!

I feel so good. Everyone in my household seems happy and physically healthy. My husband is communicating and feeling more comfortable with me more and more. I am finally learning how to enjoy my marriage without having to think for anyone but me.

Peace & balance,

Nandi

Tc, at 933 posts to your credit, you've nearly reached 1,000 personal stepping stones on your own path to healing!!! Way cool!!!

I'm so tickled you're enjoying the hugs Taran. I really like your new avatar (is that the correct term?). I liked your other one as well.

My apartment is 300 sq ft. I call it my "cracker box palace." It was supposed to be my home for only 6 months ... temporary ... that was nearly 2 years ago. Being temporary, I was tickled to have a classmate lend me a futon mattress to have as a bed albiet on the floor.

On Sunday, some moving neighbors had a futon frame to get rid of!!! When I first asked my son to measure it and lend a hand moving it, he was non-plussed. When he saw how much it meant to me (I am thrilled!!!), once we got it in the house and the mattress fit perfectly, I could see his attitude change immediately.

I think it was a good lesson for him. After his reluctance to help, he was pleased he helped me do something that was of no significance to him and very important to me.

Cheers!
Life

Life, its cool that your son learned something about doing things for other people. I wish I was better at that.

I met with my new therapist for the first time yesterday. I have tried therapy before although I have never felt as though my heart was really in it on the other efforts. I feel there's something different in this go around. I hope so. So far I really like this therapist. I believe this will be the time that works for me.

I also like Tatan's new avatar! :cookiemonster:

I meet with my therapist today and I can feel the anticipation building within my body. I look forward to these sessions as it is a chance to dig deep and find all the parts which hopefully will one day soon be together in one whole being.I'm at a stage in this process where the work is very hard but the light at the end of tunnel is getting brighter by the day. I know there are still some very painful moments ahead, but there is no doubt that the reward of living life is more than worth the price of learning to feel this pain.

I've been forced to work the last couple of days and haven't had enough time to spend in the forums. :ohwell: On the positive side of things my son actually said I love you to me as he was leaving yesterday. I've been trying to think if he has ever done this voluntairly before in his life. If so it was a young child, probably Christmas morning. So life can offer these positive litte surprises. :jump:

Jimmie - That is fantastic news - :claphands:

Today we had a little rain - it is so refreshing to feel the drops on your face. We ahve been on water restrictions for a few months now so it's just wonderful to have grey day!
