"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

After days like yesterday I appreciate this place even more. I won't get into how bad things were in this thread. Instead I'll save it for later. It feels good to have one place in the world where people won't try and hurt me for being myself.

I'm encouraged people are continuing to find positives in their life and come to share the good news. This morning was bright and sunny and I had a chance to go for a walk before some late morning clouds. It was great just to breath the air and thank the creator for giving us life.

My father tried to put me down twice the last two days, e-mailing me what a terrible person I am (and always have been); spoiled rotten, evil and manipulative, BUT HE DIDNīT SUCCEED!
I feel angry at him (which is good) but I also feel very proud that he didnīt make me question myself. Cause that usually leeds to bad behavior (if everyone thinks Iīm evil, Iīll give you evil). I am not evil.

(For some reason I think me logging in isnīt working.
Hi everyone, itīs vampiresa mujer and I am a new member from the Netherlands, diagnosed with NPD)

Its very good that you didn't question yourself after your Father tried to put you down. You are not evil, rather very much a human being!

I just came from my session with my therapist. Even though we touched on some very difficult emotions I feel warmth and feeling of safety. Progress is being made beyond a shadow of doubt.

I had another terrific day at the new job. The people I work with are so laid back and very understanding that I'm new. I, on the other hand, expect perfection of myself the first time out.

Where my co-workers are laid back, I can be a bit of a hyper-puppy LOL. I will work at being more laid back. I am also working on giving myself space to learn new tasks.

It is so awsome working in an environment where positive attitudes prevail. It is so unlike the last two temp positions I was "let go from." Actually, I've suprised myself that being let go from 2 positions didn't destroy me. The first one I chalk up to a "poor fit." The second one ... whew ... it was the job from hades.

Cheers!

I received my first ever massage this afternoon. It is the most relaxed I have ever felt. It felt surprisingly good to let another person touch me. Finals are looming a month away and I need to stay relaxed. So far everything is going better then last semester. I hope it continues.

It's great to hear everybody's fantastic posts.

Taran - It sounds like the hugs are proving addicitive!

Welcome, Vampiresa - you have good reason to feel proud of yourself for not letting your father put you down.

Life - the job sounds great - keep enjoying it!

Bikerboy - It sounds like your first massage will not be your last!!

Today did not start well - my son started the day in a rage (for no other reason than his brother did not put the milk away) and ended up standing on the road throwing rocks at the house. I haven't seen behaviour like this for months. I just went out to a cafe and left him to it - I've done this before and it seems to work. I came back and he was in the shower. The day continued as if the morning had never happened. The positives are that the rage did not continue and that the day finished with a hug.

Today feels like a better day then yesterday .At least I'm starting to be able to let go of some stuff. This is new and definitely a step in the right direction.

Life- I'm glad the new job continues to go well for you.

Balbrenny its impressive you can find something positive of this experience. That's a powerful testimony for healing potential.

The time I spent with my therapist yesterday was interesting, though it resulted in one major surprise which makes me uncomfortable. We are brushing up against some of the deepest portions of my wounds. I feel more happening inside of me than at any other time I can recall. Its much different from emptiness. Its a combination of anxiety, fear and anticipation of living life. I think its a good thing to be happening because it suggests I'm on the right course.

I woke up without the huge anxiety pain in my chest this morning!

Hopefully I can make it through the day without it!
