"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

I am learning an important lesson about trust. My therapist asked me to do something at my last appointment which goes against how I have always looked at my own healing. I reluctantly agreed and even followed through on getting the process started. Usually if I don't want to do something I would conveniently forget it or simply not do it. I still have doubts and concerns, but at the same time I almost feel as though I see progress. Its too early for the kind of progress so it might be all in mind. Even so its a positive step to be willing to at least try what makes me feel uncomfortable. :cookiemonster:

A couple of weeks ago a member of the Student Senate resigned and there is an election coming up in December to pick his replacement. I've always liked politics but my life was too hellish last year and the first part of this year to even think about it. I'm a long way from cured but I made a decision this morning to at least throw my name in the hat and see what happens. If I will it'll be good experience and hopefully I can handle it. If I lose it will be a good experience and hopefully I can handle it. So in this way I win no matter what the vote is.

Congratulations on getting out and standing up for what you believe in, bikerboy. I admire those with the courage to put their name on the ballot because I know for sure I will never do that. Not even a remote chance.

I'm feeling good right now that the status of my job has been resolved. Finally I'm able to do some long term planning with the family that was being repressed as I awaited news. I feel like I'm breathing clean air again. Without a doubt the tension is less than a few days ago.

The good news seems to have slowed a bit. Is everyone having a bad week? I hope not, but if so take time to smell the flowers. My really good news of the year so far is that someone actually invited me to come to dinner with them. I know its only one and not seven but I'll start slow. This is not officially a date, more of a friends hanging togethe. Its been a while since I even did this. I better shut up before I depress myself.

I just smashed my foot underneath the filing cabinet I was attemtping to move. It hurts like hell but I decided to send warm thoughts and make this a positive experience of not screaming like a baby.

I lost my favorit Uncle in Indiana. :bawling: The good news is that I have enough remaining vacation days to drive my mother (who has M.S.) there to be with her sisters in their time of grief. Too bad it sometimes takes a sad occasion [as a funeral] have a family reunion. The good thing is we still do have family and we will be so glad to see and hold one another again. :claphands:

Pray that we will have traveling mercies to and from.

Peace & blessings,

Nandi

Sorry to hear about your loss, Nandi. I hope your able to take of your own needs as well as help out with your Mother.

I'm having fun at work to compensate for having too hard far too hard the previous couple of weeks. I installed a new database program and I've actually entertained myself putting it together. Some days we need to just work by ourself and for me this was one of those days. People seemed to understand and respect my space and I very much appreciate that.

I'm making plans to go out with a friend Friday night. I haven't talked to her in a while. I'm looking forward to it!

Cheers!

Nandi, it's always hard to lose someone - I'm thinking about you at this time.

My eldest has once more calmed down so life is returning to quiet times.

Sorry about your uncle, Nandi. We'll be thinking of you and will miss you while your away.

I love wildlife and have always enjoy going on viewing trips. Late yesterday I received a thrill when I looked out the window and saw a moose in the resting in the field across the street. This kind of thing always excites the little boy in me. :cookiemonster: Moose are on one of my favorite animals so this was very exciting.

Its been a calm week, enjoying life. It feels good.
