"Out beyond ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing there is a field. I'll meet you there." ----- Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi-Rumi, 13th century Sufi poet.

"Have faith that people do their best. I don't know anyone who would eat with pigs out of a trough in a muddy barnyard if he knew that a well-prepared meal was on the table in a clean house - do you?" Greg Baer

"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

Q. Is it really possible to heal NPD?

A. Anything is possible. You do not have to be a negative statistic on a probablity curve of people with Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Tonight is my nephew's first wrestling match of his high school career. I'm looking forward to the drive up north to see him do what he loves. We have slowly developed a good relationship and its exciting to see him finding happiness,

Another day starts with a hug.

I'm really looking forward to the weekend and a chance to workout. Last night my new girlfriend called and we talked a long time just about little things. It feels nice to have reached a place where I can talk with someone without being defensive or terrified.

I agree that visiting here helps keep me positive. I'm so grateful for that.

I'm also grateful today for my little boy. I had fertility problems. Then I had him. Five months later I had a hysterectomy, and my surgeon said, "Your ovaries were dying. I don't know how you ever got pregnant." The past few days he's been driving me crazy and pushing my buttons. Which is why when he looked at me last night and said, "Mommy, I love you," it really felt good!

The other day my ex gifrlfriend and I were able to have a conversation without screaming, hints of her wanting to get back together, strange allegations or anything distrubing. I was afraid what might happen afterward but so far its been calm. I hope this is an indicator we are moving into a new time as that would be cool. The other really good news is I started more own formal therapy, again, and I'll say more later.

I had a lot of fun last night watching my nephew pin his opponent in his first varsity wrestling match. He was laughing aftterward that he's undefeated and pinned every opponent he's face. It was great to just be with the family and not have to worry about various other problems in the world.

I had my first real meaningful conversation with my parents about NPD. We've kind of danced around the topic before without ever getting into specifics . They're aware something is wrong but they've always preferred not to know specifics. Can't say as though I entirely blame them on that point. At any rate we talked and I gave them the names of some books to read and we'll see if they actually do it. I feel better than I have about this part of the problem.

The last couple of weeks have been some of the busiest I have at work in a long time. I'm off this entire next week and I look forward to catching up on my reading hear and doing some of the writing I have promised for the site and Ripples. I've been thinking if not writing.

The good news is this afternoon I had another chance to just talk with my son. There cannot be enough of these days as we have so much to catch up on. It feels good to be able to connect with other members of my family.

I received an impromptu lesson on keeping control of my temper yesterday morning. I went outside to pick up the previous day's mail and somehow the front door locked behind me. I didn't have the key to the house with me and the back door was locked as well. The tempature outside was a balmy 20 degrees. I had the choice of breaking a window or walking two miles to my Mother's house to get a key. There was a time in my life when I would have been so mad that an event such as this would have destroyed the rest of my day. Yesterday I was able to keep positive thoughts going and even a sense of humor as I arrived at their doorsteep at 7:30am. I had a good day of watching football and soon my bones de-frosted and the bad experience left my body and allowed me to move forward. It feels good not to have those old rageful feelings.

Another day starts with a hug. :puppylove: In my opinion my greatest fault is a tendency to play follow the leader and come to conclusions without gathering all the facts. This is something which has been big in my life. It bothers me a lot when others do it to me. I'm making a pledge to try and get beyond doing it as much as possible in my own life.
